Abstract: A system for determining high quality musical recordings comprises a server computer which communicates with a plurality of client devices configured to execute internet radio client software which plays musical recordings. The server computer includes a registration unit for registering users; an input unit for registering, for each user, and for each musical recording of a selected group of musical recordings, a user's opinion of the musical recording. It also includes a combining unit configured to combine a user's registered opinion of each of the musical recordings with the registered opinions of other users, an input valuation unit configured to assign a valuation to the registered opinions on the basis of data from the combining unit, and a reward unit for providing a reward to one or more users on the basis of a valuation provided by the input valuation unit.

The DNS server includes: a receiver to receive a DNS query comprising a domain name from a client device, wherein the domain name corresponds to a host server; a modifier to append a domain to an end of the domain name to create a modified domain name; and a mapping engine to compare the modified domain name to a local cache, wherein the local cache comprises a list of domain names, at least some of which are to be routed to an Internet Protocol (IP) address corresponding to an intermediate server.

Abstract: A recycling container with a weather-resistant coating is described. The container may be provided in a variety of configurations to accept recyclable waste or other items of trash or refuse. Abstract: The invention involves clusters or hubs each comprising multiple works for which human beings might express taste-based preferences. The items are grouped in clusters in such a way that the works most in accordance with the tastes of any particular individual person will tend to be in a small number of these clusters out of the overall collection. In this way, clusters can be used to help the person find items that he is not previously familiar with but that he will probably like. The clustering of works is optimized by human effort, software, or both. By way of example, a methodology for doing this using the principle of information transfer as described in the theory of Shannon entropy is explained. When human effort is used to perform the optimization, facilities are provided for using such principles to determine whether a human-suggested change actually improves the clustering. Facilities are provided whereby the optimization work may be distributed across multiple machines.

The discovery service includes a database containing a list of custodians for the item and a service interface through which electronic product code information services and applications can access the entries in the list. The list includes an entry for each custodian. Each entry includes the electronic product code number, a pointer to an electronic product code information service associated with the custodian, and a trip identifier for the item. The service interface includes several services enabling traceability of the item represented by the electronic product code. Methods and apparatus, including computer program products for using a trip identifier in a discovery service are also described.
