  • Patent number: 11713862
Abstract: A lighting system includes an upper housing supporting a light engine, and a diffuser coupled to the upper housing. The diffuser may be monolithic, i.e. formed of a single material as a single piece without joints or seams where separate components are joined. The monolithic diffuser may be formed by an additive manufacturing process, for example 3D printing. The diffuser may couple to the upper housing with a tool-less connection. The portion of the tool-less connection defined by the diffuser may be formed by the additive manufacturing process. The lighting system may further include a lens coupled to the diffuser opposite the upper housing with a lens retaining ring. The lens retaining ring may be formed with an additive manufacturing process, and may define an annular snap-fit with the diffuser.

  • Patent number: 10012354
Abstract: A direct troffer-style fixture for solid state light sources for use in these fixtures. Embodiments of the present invention provide a direct troffer-style fixture that is particularly well-suited for retrofit structures. The fixture comprises a retrofit troffer assembly that is removably attached within a T grid or pan structure. The retrofit fixture can be installed in two pieces: a first including a lens structure, a back reflector and 2 end reflectors; and the second component including a second portion of the back reflector. An interior space created by the lens structure houses light emitters and in some embodiments, a light engine and/or additional electronics. One or both of the end reflectors may be movable, slidable and/or rotatable, to accommodate installation. The back reflector covers most of the interior surfaces of the troffer fixture to direct more light out of the fixture.

  • Publication number: 20160276857
Abstract: Various embodiments, aspects and features of the present invention encompass an electronic charging system configured to be removably mounted to the inside of a belt for the purpose of conveniently charging an electronic device. An exemplary embodiment includes a plurality of re-chargeable batteries that can be attached to the inside of a belt via hooks, clips, magnets, hook and loop strips, or some other means such that the system resides between the user and the belt when worn.

  • Publication number: 20160145934
Abstract: A protective additional glazing system, apparatus, and associated methods is disclosed for the protection of structural openings against impacts from projectiles from any cause, including nature or man. The system consists of a substantially rigid panel, substantially the same size as the visible glass being protected, that may be attached to the inside of the frame mounting the original glass via a standoff/anchor that is attached to the original frame via an adhesive means. Another embodiment consists of a substantially rigid panel cut slightly larger than the visible original glazing being protected, said panel being attached to the structural opening via a standoff/anchor/adhesive means. This invention provides security and protection in an effective and affordable manner.

  • Publication number: 20080106907
Abstract: A lighting device, comprising a housing and at least one mounting clip. The housing comprises an electrical connection region engageable in an electrical receptacle. The mounting clip is pivotable from a first position, where an end region of the mounting clip does not extend beyond a periphery of the housing, to a second position, where the end region extends beyond the housing periphery. Also, a lighting device, comprising a housing, a trim element and at least one mounting clip. The mounting clip is pivotable, such that if the mounting clip is in a second position and then the trim element is rotated, the mounting clip will pivot to a third position, where the mounting clip engages the housing such that the trim element is biased toward a ceiling or other structure in which the lighting device is mounted. Also, methods of installing housings and/or trim elements.

  • Publication number: 20070291481
Abstract: A light fixture or troffer for directing light emitted from a light source toward an area to be illuminated, including a reflector assembly within which the light source is positioned and a lens assembly detachably secured to a portion of the reflector assembly such that a lens of the lens assembly overlies the light source and such that substantially all of the light emitted from the light source passes through the lens assembly. In one example, the lens includes a curved prismatic surface that can be oriented toward or away from the underlying light source.

  • Publication number: 20070237102
Abstract: Mobile devices, such as cameras and cellular telephones, can be equipped with a high-speed low power system for transferring data to a commonly available intermediary receiver. The intermediary receiver would then transfer the received data into a computer for storage or subsequent processing. In one embodiment, the commonly available receiver would be a peripheral device to the computer, such as the computer's keyboard or mouse, which is linked to the PC by cable or wirelessly. The link between the receiver and the mobile device would be, for example, an infrared data (IrDA) link.
