  • Publication number: 20070226761
Abstract: Dynamically replaceable assets are inserted in program content and may be used for the insertion of cinematic stage props therein. Such assets can be used for advertising purposes in that images of different products and services can be inserted therein and are changeable via a network. Such assets may be created by identifying locations in the content where the assets can be inserted, establishing the assets in the identified locations, determining location and visual effects information for each asset, and creating a reference file that includes the location and the visual effects information associated with each asset. A value may be determined for each asset or advertisers may bid on the assets to yield additional advertising revenue channel for the content. The content may be played back by broadcasting the content and reference information designating parameters for inserting the assets into the content. Replacement images, such as images of products, may be obtained via a network.

Abstract: Stage props, such as consumer products, in legacy program content are replaced with dynamically replaceable assets. Such assets can be used for advertising purposes in that images of different products and services can be inserted therein and are changeable via a network. Such assets may be created by identifying props in the content for replacement, determining location and visual effects information for each identified prop, and creating a reference file that includes the content and the location and the visual effects information associated with each identified prop. A value may be determined for each asset or advertisers may bid on the assets to yield additional advertising revenue channel for the content. The content may be played back by broadcasting the content and reference information designating parameters for inserting the assets into the content. • Publication number: 20070117625
Abstract: A method for triggering commands of a program executed on a computing system is provided. In this method, an interface object first is provided. One interface object is defined by an object coupled to a handle, whereby the handle includes an elongated member that is substantially perpendicular to a line extending from the object. Another interface object is coupled to a game controller. Another interface object is defined by a pair of spherical objects. The interface object then is placed within a field of view of an image capture device, and a change in position of the interface object within the field of view of the image capture device triggers an interfacing command at the program executed on the computing system. A system for triggering commands of a program also are described.

  • Publication number: 20070078989
Abstract: A list of advertisements, products, or services for which an impression is generated during the course of a digital environment session (e.g., a video game) may be imported to a list that may be viewed at the conclusion of the digital session. The user may then visit advertiser web sites and/or view/purchase products at their leisure instead of while immersed in the digital experience. Similarly, a list of all advertisements through which an interaction occurred during the course of a video game experience (e.g., physical encounter, purchase of an in-game product, utilizing a sponsored product) may be imported to a list that may be viewed at the conclusion of a game session. The user may then visit the advertiser web sites and/or view/purchase products at their leisure instead of while immersed in the digital environment.

  • Publication number: 20070025562
Abstract: Targeted sound detection methods and apparatus are disclosed. A microphone array has two or more microphones M0 . . . MM. Each microphone is coupled to a plurality of filters. The filters are configured to filter input signals corresponding to sounds detected by the microphones thereby generating a filtered output. One or more sets of filter parameters for the plurality of filters are pre-calibrated to determine one or more corresponding pre-calibrated listening zones. Each set of filter parameters is selected to detect portions of the input signals corresponding to sounds originating within a given listening zone and filter out sounds originating outside the given listening zone. A particular pre-calibrated listening zone is selected at a runtime by applying to the plurality of filters a set of filter coefficients corresponding to the particular pre-calibrated listening zone.
