  • Patent number: 10528872
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a technique for implementing a framework that enables application developers to enhance their applications with dynamic adjustment capabilities. Specifically, the framework, when utilized by an application on a mobile computing device that implements the framework, can enable the application to establish predictive models that can be used to identify meaningful behavioral patterns of an individual who uses the application. In turn, the predictive models can be used to preempt the individual's actions and provide an enhanced overall user experience. The framework is configured to interface with other software entities on the mobile computing device that conduct various analyses to identify appropriate times for the application to manage and update its predictive models. Such appropriate times can include, for example, identified periods of time where the individual is not operating the mobile computing device, as well as recognized conditions where power consumption is not a concern.

  • Patent number: 10525267
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems, methods, and devices for closed loop deep brain stimulation. In particular, a neural signal is measured and provided to software. The software includes a feature generator and a brain network model that takes the neural signal and estimates other neural signals that are not directly measured, and operates as a model of the brain. The software determines a stimulation signal to be sent to stimulating electrodes. Estimated signals by the brain network model are continuously compared to actual signals from the brain. The closed loop feedback system advantageously allows for electrical stimulation levels and patterns to be continuously updated while delivered to a patient.

  • Publication number: 20200004638
Abstract: Differential or selective elective data transformation, which can include compression and/or encryption, is applied to selected data subsets, such as selected table spaces, of a database during a single database operation. In response to a received backup command, a backup utility of a database management system obtains data from a number of data subsets of a source database that are specified for inclusion in a backup image. At least one of the data subsets is specified for data transformation while subsets are not. The data from the specified data subsets is identified in the obtained data, and transformed prior to writing a single backup image to archive media. The backup image therefore contains both transformed and untransformed data. The selection of data subsets for transformation can be made automatically without requiring user specification according to predefined data characteristics including subset size, data type, compressibility, or encryption.
