  • Patent number: 7498684
Abstract: Creating a large fleet of vehicles to gather wind energy and generate wind generated energy, such as electricity, is impeded by the cost to an individual vehicle owner. Accordingly, a portable system and corresponding method to gather wind energy and deposit stored wind generated energy for system credit is provided. The present invention includes a wind energy gathering device, an energy storage system, means for depositing stored wind generated energy for system credit, and a configuration of any one or combination of the aforementioned, the configuration adapted to at least be movable from a first vehicle to a second vehicle. As such, there is an incentive for individual vehicle owners to participate in gathering wind energy and depositing wind generated energy. By taking advantage of potentially millions of participants and participating vehicles, the present invention creates a format for generating energy from multiple forms of wind energy on a wide-scale.

  • Publication number: 20080229200
Abstract: In this editing and mixing environment, the graphical form is a direct and exact model of the audio recording. Thus, there is a one-to-one relationship between the manipulation of an audio recording, via manipulation of the graphical form, and the resulting edited audio recording. The audio editing system relates audio to a visual graphical form by providing a tactile dimensionality and functionality to translate the form into an edit and/or mixing audio process and result. In this manner, a user may not only hear the representation of the music that has been edited or mixed, but may also see the representation of the audio in representative graphical form. The form may be manipulated by a user in logical scale to the sound so that the user may learn the traits and tools of the editing system.

  • Publication number: 20080228717
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system directed to a management of distributed database data and file access and retrieval by providing multiple parameter data media search. Conventional model generate search results based upon the text entered into the search box by the user. Unfortunately, the existing conventional models have certain limitations in use, distribution, and deployment. The present invention relates to the creation of multi-parameter search tools that allow for searched materials to be quantified by numerous logical searching parameters. An example embodiment (i) provides a plurality of parameters, each of the plurality of parameters having a respective range of terms; (ii) displays the plurality of parameters; (iii) displays the respective ranges of terms; (iv) solicits from the user at least one search selection from the displayed ranges of terms; (v) performs a search from the at least one search selection; and (vi) returns a search result to the user.

  • Publication number: 20080169903
Abstract: Conventional techniques for logging and using a user's signature are insecure and inflexible. A system and method are provided which: i) translate a user's first signature, such as a user's voice signature, into a user's second signature, such as a radio frequency identifier signature; and ii) deploy the user's second signature. By translating the user's first signature into the user's second signature and deploying the user's second signature, the provided technique assures the authenticity of the user. Furthermore, the provided system and method enable additional authentication factors, such as a user's personal identification number, to be used with the user's first and second signatures in multiple combinations and sequences to assure the authenticity of the user. As such, the invention provides a security layer offering added security and added flexibility previously unavailable, and which may be applied in a variety of contexts, such as a user device or a retail transaction.

  • Publication number: 20080167867
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for altering settings on portable electronic devices based upon the surrounding sounds. The system and method create a series of improvements in electronic devices that enable a person to have a greater possibility to hear their name being called, important signals or emergency vehicles while using their electronic devices are in use by the instant user. An example embodiment (i) provides at least one sensor connected to a portable device, each sensor detecting surrounding sounds; (ii) recognizing a specific sound among the surrounding sounds by the at least one sensor by matching the specific sound to one of a plurality of reference sounds; and (iii) altering settings of the portable device from a first setting to a second setting, in a first event the specific sound matches with one of the plurality of reference sounds.

  • Publication number: 20080162154
Abstract: Disclosed is an advertising and marketing network where vehicles (especially traveling ones) are the advertising and marketing medium. Advertisers pay for a package where a certain number of vehicles display advertisement approved by the advertiser for a certain number of advertising impressions based upon average traffic on monitored roadways at specific times. The advertising is removeably affixed to vehicles. In one embodiment, this is accomplished by network personnel/vehicle operator at a designated toll booth/private or public facility adjacent to the monitored road area. The advertising is coupled to a tracking transponder that is read at different road points to generate specific credits for the advertiser and vehicle operator. Participating vehicle operators receive credit that may be used to either offset toll costs or to generate cash/credit at other participating businesses, municipalities, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20080148733
Abstract: A system and method for generating and distributing a closed loop riparian geothermal energy infrastructure. This system fills the need for the average home to tie into an existing geothermal “grid” constructed along, adjacent to or underneath a riparian body. The user may not need to invest in the geothermal infrastructure necessary outside the home to enable a geothermal system inside a home. The user, instead, is responsible for creating the section of the geothermal system that exists in the interior home infrastructure. In one embodiment of the invention, the infrastructure comprises at least one distribution flow line having a forward line for a first phase and a return flow line for circulatory second phase. The distribution flow line is coupled to any point along a main flow line. The main line flow line is buried to a sufficient depth within a riparian body for converting the first and second phases.
