Patent number: 9738411Abstract: A container suitable for dispensing dispensable moisture sensitive curable products such as a CA with a container body which forms an internal reservoir for holding the product a dispensing aperture provided in the container body. Opposing side wall have a curved profile along its path between the front and rear walls which is arranged to regulate a compressibility ratio between the compressive force regulated to move at least one of the front and rear walls toward the other and the distance compressed so that a yield point is not reached, within a compressive dispensing range of movement of said at least one wall, beyond which the container becomes substantially easier to compress. The dispensing force required is predictable and regular while a desired flexibility is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2006Date of Patent: August 22, 2017Assignee: Henkel IP & Holding GmbHInventors: David J. Gibson, Geoffrey F. Seymour

Patent number: 8033433Abstract: A dispensing nozzle for a container with a long tapered nozzle body has a narrow tapered dispensing end and a wider base end. A passage for fluid runs from the base end to the dispensing end and through an outlet. The dispensing nozzle has a removable cap that fits over the dispensing nozzle when in the closed position which closes the dispensing nozzle's outlet with a penetrating plug located on the interior of the cap. The cap has a narrow closed end that has the penetrating plug on its interior side and the cap has a wider open end. The cap fits onto the nozzle in a tight fit when closed. The invention contemplates that the fluid in the container is strong glue, so that hardened glue makes removing the cap difficult. To solve this problem, the nozzle and the cap have two distinct sets of ramps that provide the initial separating force to twist the cap with respect to the nozzle in order to remove the cap easily and allow dispensation.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2005Date of Patent: October 11, 2011Assignee: Locite (R&D) LimitedInventors: David J. Gibson, Geoffrey F. Seymour

Patent number: 7735678Abstract: The invention relates to an outer container for holding an inner container in particular where the inner container has a sensitive product. The outer container comprises at least one of a moveable display board; retaining formations for retaining a hygroscopic element; or a stand for gripping the base of the inner container to retain it in an upright position. The invention also relates to a combination pack comprising the inner container retained in the outer container, particularly where the inner container holds a moisture sensitive product such as an adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2005Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Assignee: Loctite (R&D) LimitedInventors: Peter Rushe, Liam P. O'Dwyer, Geoffrey F. Seymour, David J. Gibson, Patrick Kealy

Patent number: 7621411Abstract: A cap assembly for closing a container. The cap assembly has: (i) an undercap having a cap body with a top end (or wall) and with at least one endless side wall depending from the top end (or wall) to form a housing for receiving the neck of a container; (ii) an overcap having an overcap body with a top end and with at least one endless side wall depending from the top end to form a housing for receiving and engaging the (cap body of the) undercap; and (iii) an applicator having a stem with a first end for engagement with, or integrally formed with, the undercap within the housing, so that the stem projects from the housing, and a second free end for applying product. The exterior of the undercap body has a series of circumferentially arranged teeth for interengagement with a corresponding series of circumferentially arranged teeth within the housing of the overcap.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2001Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Assignee: Locite (R&D) LimitedInventors: Michael A. Doherty, Geoffrey F. Seymour

Patent number: 5379927Abstract: A package, with a nozzle, a chamber, a cap which fits over the nozzle, and a pin attached to the interior of the cap which fits into the opening of the nozzle, for storing and dispensing a liquid, having an improved closure mechanism comprising at least one rectangular stopping member and at least one rectangular band in the interior of the cap and at least one guide flange on the nozzle. The package also has a plurality of guide ribs located around the nozzle to aid in the proper placement of the cap. The package is designed to be leak proof, nonclogging, able to dispense the liquid precisely, and can be easily opened even when the pin has bonded to the opening of the nozzle without breaking or shearing the pin.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1994Date of Patent: January 10, 1995Assignee: Loctite CorporationInventors: Robert E.
