Abstract: Methods of increasing the resistance of plants, in particular soybeans, to nematodes, in particular soybean cyst nematodes, are provided herein. The methods include increasing the expression of Glyma18g02580, Glyma18g02590 and/or Glyma18g2610 in cells of a plant and in particular in root cells of a plant to increase the resistance of the plant and plant cells to nematodes. The methods include increasing the expression using constitutive promoters or by increasing the copy number of the polynucleotides. Constructs for expressing these polypeptides, transgenic cells, transgenic plants and methods of generating the same are also provided. Methods of screening plant cells for resistance or susceptibility to nematodes are also provided.

Abstract: A case frame used in various devices and a method of manufacturing the case frame are provided. The method includes forming the case frame in a shape corresponding to a product to which the case frame is applied, forming a first painting layer with a color of a material applied to a surface of the formed case frame, depositing a transparent oxide deposition layer having a refractive index on an upper portion of the first painting layer, and forming a second painting layer on an upper portion of the transparent oxide deposition layer. Accordingly, the case frame can have an excellent texture by reproducing a brightness and a color anisotropy on the basis of a viewing angle by adding only a simple manufacturing process, thereby being able to improve quality of an electronic device in general and to promote a user's desire for purchasing the device.

Abstract: Described herein are methods of measuring, in a genomic sample from an individual, the relative frequency of a target sequence (that is, its copy number) with respect to a control sequence of known copy number at a different genomic locus in the same genome, wherein the target and control sequences differ by at least one single nucleotide variation (SNV). These methods involve both the target sequence and the control sequence in a single reaction/container, using a pair of primers that prime amplification of both the target sequence and the control sequence, or a single downstream primer and two upstream primers (that differs only at the position of the SNV between the target and control sequences), and measuring the abundance of each of the target sequence and the control sequence using SNV-specific labeled probes or primers, or a melting curve analysis that distinguishes between the amplified control and target sequences. The methods are exemplified with various different amplifications process.
