  • Patent number: 5019127
Abstract: A liquid is dosed by an apparatus that has a housing formed with an inlet connected to a supply of the liquid, an outlet, a filling chamber, and a bypass chamber having an outlet side from which the outlet opens and an inlet side connected to the inlet. A pumping piston subdivides the filling chamber into an inlet compartment into which the inlet opens and an outlet compartment. A valve element in the housing can move between a filling position blocking the outlet and connecting the inlet through the bypass chamber with the outlet compartment and a feed position exposing the outlet and blocking flow between the inlet and the outlet compartment through the bypass chamber. The piston is alternately retracted through a back stroke while the element is in the filling position to draw liquid into the outlet compartment from the inlet through the bypass chamber and is advanced through a predetermined advance stroke while the element is in the feed position to eject the drawn-in liquid from the outlet.

  • Patent number: 4964132
Abstract: In a laser in which two longitudinal modes of a laser emission are excited, high frequency stability and intensity stability of the laser emission are achieved in that the dimensioning of the laser is used to produce a coupling of the intensities of the two modes and thus at least one minimum of the gain curve over frequency appears. This curve is swept by modifying the optical length of the resonator and an extreme value of the curve is thereby stored. Proceeding from this extreme value, an intensity value is identified which deviates from the extreme value by a prescribed amount and this intensity value is kept within prescribed limits by adjusting the optical resonator length. This invention is particularly suitable for gas lasers and in particular helium neon-lasers.

  • Patent number: 4915208
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and arrangement for exchanging cellular members which are provided with container receiving openings and form part of a filling machine. The cellular members are successively removed from the filling machine and cellular members with an alternate format for receiving containers are essentially simultaneously inserted into the filling machine. This operation is carried out in that an exchange arrangement receives the first formatted cellular members at a first receiving station of a magazine and dispenses alternately formatted cellular members at a second working station of the machine is disposed at a distance from the afore-mentioned receiving station. In this manner it is possible to carry out a cellular member exchange in a very rapid manner and by a very simple process and arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4860926
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for dosingly filling pasty or fluid filling material into containers. The arrangement is provided with a rotatably mounted cylinder and an axially slidably mounted piston which moves within the rotatable cylinder and which in its extreme inner position closes at least a third, but preferably about 50% of a window-like through opening, respectively inlet opening in the housing of the device. When retracting the dosing piston it exposes the portion of the through opening which has been closed when the piston is in its innermost position. By filling containers by means of the device of this invention, the filling material is automatically dropped into the rotating cylinder and is thereby subjected to an extraordinarily sparingly sensitive manipulation, which is particularly significant for sensitive products, such as for example salad-like products.

  • Patent number: 4830068
Abstract: A device for the simultaneous quantitative regulated filling of liquid or soft plasticized substances, such as butter, margarine, pastes or the like, by means of nozzles into adjacently arranged containers with the assistance of at least one control element interchangeably switchable from filling to discharging and at least one dosing piston. The device is arranged in such a way that two adjacent nozzles arranged in tandem are assigned one control element and one dosing piston. A passageway in the transition region from the actual dosing device to the nozzles can be adjusted preferably by means of a regulating valve whose angle of rotation can be altered. This regulating valve provides for an especially delicately sensitive and precise distribution of the product stream onto the one or the other nozzle for the purpose of balancing the output volume.

  • Patent number: 4750531
Abstract: An automatic exchange device for format dependent cellular panels used in container-filling machines for filling containers with foodstuffs, flavorings or other liquid to pastiform products, the machines being arranged to pick-up and transport the containers whereby cellular panels are arranged adjacent to each other on a through-conveyor or periodically circulating conveyor and are corrected to the conveyor. A replacement mechanism for the cellular panels. The exchange of panels is effected with the assistance of a manipulator, which automatically detaches the connection with the assistance of a motor driven screw tool and also reattaches the connection after the exchange. After releasing the connection, the manipulator picks up the cellular panel by means of suction cups and removes it via the use of an elevator into a magazine, which, for example, is comprised of a drum with radially arranged partitions.
