    Abstract: A robotic vehicle, such as an autonomous mobile robot (AMR), is provided, comprising a chassis, a navigation system, and a load engagement portion, a plurality of sensors, including an object detection sensor, and a load interaction system. The AMR is configured to perform a load drop and a load pickup within a zone without using predetermined load pick up and drop off locations within the zone. The AMR can determine where to place a load within the zone based on proximity to another object or physical structure within the zone. A location of the zone on the AMR's route can be trained, but pickup and drop locations within the zone can be untrained and undefined in advance.

A resource manager module analyzes the route based on the graph network to determine one or more sets of related shared spaces on the route; applies an ordering algorithm to generate a hierarchy associated with each set of related shared spaces; and, for each set of related shared spaces, generates a set of behaviors to be executed by the vehicle to request access to the set of related shared spaces based on the associated hierarchy.

    Abstract: A laser material processing head, such as a remote welding head, has an output with a protective optic configured to pass an emitted laser to a working area. The protective optic, such as a cover slide of the output, protects other optics inside the head and is a replaceable, spare part. To prevent at least some debris expelled from the working area from reaching the protective optic, a nozzle is mounted to the head adjacent to the protective optic. The nozzle has an inlet and an outlet for the gas. The outlet has a curvilinear profile configured to fan a cross-jet of the gas in the plane between the protective optic and the working area. The profile of the nozzle reduces the amount of gas needed to divert the debris from the protective optic.

    Abstract: Fluid modeling methods and systems are provided for predicting phase behavior of petroleum fluids using a computational model that employs pseudo-components of varying carbon numbers that represent asphaltenes, asphaltene-like hydrocarbon, and non-asphaltene hydrocarbons. The computational model models the phase equilibria of the mixture of components with mixing rules that employ binary interaction parameters determined from correlations that involve certain properties or parameters associated with respective pseudo-component pairs as input variables. The binary interaction parameters are tuned by adjusting at least one parameter of the respective correlations based on matching at least one measured property of one or more petroleum fluids to a corresponding property predicted by the computational model for the one or more petroleum fluids. The tuned values for the binary interaction parameters can be stored as part of the computational model for subsequent fluid modeling.
