  • Publication number: 20080254745
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for providing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi coexistence on an electronic device. Aspects of exemplary embodiments include determining Bluetooth link parameters for a Bluetooth connection and Wi-Fi link parameters for a Wi-Fi connection. Also, a Bluetooth path loss for the Bluetooth connection and a Wi-Fi path loss for the Wi-Fi connection can be determined. According to this embodiment, one or more link conditions, based upon one or more of the Bluetooth link parameters, the Wi-Fi link parameters, the Bluetooth path loss, and the Wi-Fi path loss, may be calculated to determine if simultaneous collaboration between the Bluetooth connection and Wi-Fi connection is feasible. In response to simultaneous collaboration being feasible, the Bluetooth link parameters and the Wi-Fi link parameters are customized based on the one or more link conditions to permit simultaneous collaboration between the Bluetooth connection and the Wi-Fi connection.

  • Publication number: 20080135049
Abstract: A filtering means for a suction tube is capable of blocking pollution sources in the air. Such means is mainly made of a tube body. The tube body is formed into an arc and has a first connecting tube and a second connecting tube thereon. A blocking body is received in the first connecting tube for blocking fine particles in the air. Further, an outer cover having a plurality of through holes is provided so as to fix the position of the blocking body. The interior of the second connecting tube is provided with a partition. The surface of the partition is provided with a plurality of gaps thereon. The gaps are formed like a grate to prevent large-sized foreign matters from entering the suction tube. With providing the filtering means on the suction tube, the fine particles contained in the air, the sputa or bacteria contained in the air exhaled by the patient can be blocked when passing through the suction tube.

  • Publication number: 20070243538
Abstract: Animals with mutations in COL4?4 present with autosomal recessive Alport Syndrome (ARAS). Through sequencing of COL4?4, the mutation causative for ARAS in the English Cocker Spaniel (ECS) has been identified. The resulting protein is severely truncated due to a premature stop codon in exon 3. This nonsense mutation occurs in the 7S domain and also causes the loss of the entire collagenous and NC1 domains of the protein. Methods for the identification of animals that harbor a mutation in the COL4?4 gene are described. Mutations in the COL4?4 gene can be identified from any biological sample such as a cell or tissue that contains genomic DNA. Methods for identifying single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that are inherited with the disease are also described. A microsatellite marker that segregates with ARAS is also described that was identified using linkage disequilibrium mapping.

  • Publication number: 20070226000
Abstract: A system and method for delivering targeted, specific repair or task information to allow a consumer to complete a repair or task without having to resort to comprehensive materials. The targeted or specific repair or task information can be delivered to the consumer in a variety of formats, including computer print-outs, CD's, DVD discs, video “clips”, etc. containing instructional “step-by-step” directions of how do to specific repairs and tasks. This allows for a very simple and targeted delivery of information that is specific to the particular problem at hand (instead of trying to sell the customer a comprehensive repair manual). At the time of sale of the item to the consumer, the system retrieves information specific to that item and prompts the seller to offer to sell the specific, targeted information to the consumer for a small fee (or for free).
