  • Patent number: 10759534
Abstract: A method is provided. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can be operated in an autonomous mode, performing course corrections from sensor data using an object detection processor and a decision processor. The UAV can then enter a hover mode if an override condition is present and enter a remote-control mode once the UAV is in the hover mode. In the remote-control mode, flight control commands can be received via the cellular module so as to position the UAV in response to the flight control command.

  • Patent number: 5256067
Abstract: An educational device (10) for facilitating vocabulary development includes a display (11) for displaying reading text, a keyboard (12) and microprocessor (14). The reader selects target words or short phrases whose meaning may be unfamiliar. A context-sensitive sentence illustrating the meaning of the selected portion of the reading text and including the target word or phrase is provided and displayed for a first preselected period. The target word or phrase in the context-sensitive sentence is replaced with verification text and displayed for a second preselected period. A test function furnishes context-sensitive questions that check the reader's understanding of the correct meaning. Performance information is collected and presented upon request.

  • Patent number: 5097966
Abstract: A storage rack for supporting an ensemble of implements alongside an upright support surface includes a base member and a plurality of removable supports rods. The base member has a plurality of equidistantly spaced, angled support rod bores in its front face, and each support rod has a first end portion sized for close-fitting, slideable mated engagement in each of the support rod bores. Fasteners may mount the base member to the support surface. Preferably, the support rod bores are at an acute angle to the front surface so that, when a support rod is inserted, the rod extends forwardly and upwardly to terminate in a free end. The rod and bore sizes may be selected so that the free end of each support rod is in a common plane with the top surface of the base member. Tremendous versatility in the configuration of an array of active support rods is therefore provided, and, in the alternate exemplary embodiments, storage bores and a storage groove are respectively disclosed for holding extra storage.

  • Patent number: 4911545
Abstract: Extendible and pivotable mirrors for vehicles which include in a first preferred embodiment, an extendible mirror attached to a piston mounted in a fluid-operated cylinder secured in the door or fender panel of a vehicle. In a preferred embodiment, the extendible mirror is extended outwardly of the vehicle fender or door panel by operation of the cylinder and is manually pivotally adjusted for rear-view observation by the driver. The extendible mirror may be retracted in a mirror well located in the fender or door panel when not in use. In a second preferred embodiment of the invention, a pivoting mirror is first pivoted from a mirror well to a desired position by operation of a fluid-operated cylinder and is subsequently manually adjusted to a functional location for rear viewing from inside the vehicle. As in the case of the extendible mirror, the pivotable mirror can be pivoted into a mirror well located in the fender or door panel of the vehicle when not in use.

  • Patent number: 4637096
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning cotton is disclosed wherein an air stream bearing cotton is introduced into an inlet chamber having side-by-side outlet ducts covered with a screen that collects cotton yet lets trash pass therethrough. The air stream is alternately diverted from one outlet duct to the other so that while cotton is accumulating on the screen in front of one duct, it is being removed from the other. The cotton, as it is removed from the screen, falls onto an inclined shaker screen which vibrates additional dirt from the cotton before it is discharged from the apparatus.
