  • Patent number: 9871337
Abstract: A method of varying the output of a free electron laser (FEL) on very short time scales to produce a slightly broader, but smooth, time-averaged wavelength spectrum. The method includes injecting into an accelerator a sequence of bunch trains at phase offsets from crest. Accelerating the particles to full energy to result in distinct and independently controlled, by the choice of phase offset, phase-energy correlations or chirps on each bunch train. The earlier trains will be more strongly chirped, the later trains less chirped. For an energy recovered linac (ERL), the beam may be recirculated using a transport system with linear and nonlinear momentum compactions M56, which are selected to compress all three bunch trains at the FEL with higher order terms managed.

  • Patent number: 9869882
Abstract: The tensioning kit for spectacles comprises an elastic pad and a blocking post. The elastic pad and the blocking post are attached to the temple of the eyeglasses. The tensioning kit for spectacles is a device that inhibits the rotation of the temple of eyeglasses such that the temple is pressed against the head of the user in a manner that places a strain on the temple that deforms the temple. As the temple attempts to return to its relaxed shape, a force is exerted against the head of the user thus holding the eyeglasses in position. The tension applied is a function of the span of the arc that is inhibited by the tensioning kit for spectacles.

  • Patent number: 9871490
Abstract: Existing multi-band/multi-mode (MB/MM) power amplifiers (PAs) use separate signal paths for the different covered frequency bands. This results in a large degree of hardware duplication and to a large die size and cost. Solutions that achieve hardware sharing between the different signal paths of MB/MM PAs are shown. Such sharing includes bias circuit and bypass capacitors sharing, as well as sharing front-end stages and the output stage of the PA. Signal multiplexing may be realized in the transmitter or at the PA front-end while the signal de-multiplexing can be realized either in the PA output stage or at the front-end of the output stage. Such circuits can be applied with saturated and linear MB/MM PAs with adjacent or non-adjacent bands.

  • Patent number: 9870855
Abstract: Multiplexing circuitry is disclosed that includes filtering circuitry, which provides a first transfer function between a common port and a first port and a second transfer function between the common port and a second port. The first transfer function and second transfer function provide a first passband and a second passband, respectively. The first transfer function also has a stopband provided within the second passband of the second transfer function because the filtering circuitry includes a first filter path and a second filter path, wherein the second filter path has a first and second parallel resonant circuit provided in shunt with respect to the second filter path and weakly coupled to one another. The weak coupling between the first parallel resonant circuit and the second parallel resonant circuit naturally provides the stopband in the first transfer function within the second passband of the second transfer function.

  • Patent number: 9872238
Abstract: Mobile stations can query independent basic service set (BSS) parameters of a group of Access Points (APs) by setting a Pre-Association Message Exchange BSSID Independent (PAME-BI) bit during Wi-Fi discovery. The PAME-BI bit may be included in a Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) request to indicate that an Access Network Query Protocol (ANQP) request carried by the GAS request is querying both independent and dependent BSS parameters. In some embodiments, the PAME-BI bit is included as a field in the ANQP query, rather than the GAS request message.
