  • Publication number: 20130173366
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is performed at a computer of a merchant. A list of one or more items available for referral is displayed. Each item is a product offered by the merchant or associated with the merchant. A first message is received from a referring party indicating that the referring party desires to refer a selected item from the list. A referring party account is created at the computer of the merchant, for the referring party. A referral hyperlink is created for referral of the selected item. The referral hyperlink includes first data identifying the selected item.

  • Patent number: 8312509
Abstract: Provided are a techniques for determining whether tagged memory is available. In response to determining that tagged memory is available, it is determined whether an Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) system is implemented. In response to determining that the EFI system is implemented, object descriptors for EFI runtime code and data are allocated and one or more call points from non-tagged memory to tagged memory are provided for use at runtime.

  • Publication number: 20110309228
Abstract: A product-lifting display and merchandising system is provided which includes a bottom platform formed of solid molded plastic and having one or more feet extending from an underside surface thereof A top deck has a planar horizontal upper surface for supporting a quantity of stacked product thereon. One or more movable support members are connected between the bottom platform and the top deck for dynamically adjusting a vertical position of the top deck relative to the bottom platform. There is a compression member positioned between the bottom platform and the top deck. The compression member supplies a lifting force to the top deck in opposition to a weight of the stacked product. As the weight of the stacked product is reduced due to gradual removal by consumers, the top deck rises to maintain a top layer of the stacked product at a determined height for ease of accessibility by the consumers.

  • Publication number: 20110231668
Abstract: A measurement engine performs active platform observation. A program includes an integrity manifest to indicate an integrity check value for a section of the program's source code. The measurement engine computes a comparison value on the program's image in memory and determines if the comparison value matches the expected integrity check value. If the values do not match, the program's image is determined to be modified, and appropriate remedial action can be triggered. The integrity manifest can include a secure signature to verify the validity of the integrity manifest.

  • Patent number: 7891286
Abstract: A liquid infusion pod having a fluid distribution member and a liquid permeable first filter member. The filter member is sealed to the fluid distribution member forming a first interior chamber that contains a liquid dispersible material. The fluid distribution member has at least one injection nozzle protruding downward from the top of the fluid distribution member into the interior chamber. • Patent number: 7467406
Abstract: A hardware-based method and system classifies and processes data sets according to a set of rules. In one aspect of the invention, the operations associated with data set analysis and classification are offloaded from an interface processor to one or more embedded processors operating in parallel with the interface processor. A set of rules for classifying a data set is represented by instruction sequences stored in the embedded processors' memory. The embedded processors include data set parser logic to decompose data sets into relevant units and rules engine logic for executing the sequence of instructions to determine the classification of data sets. The rules engine logic returns the results of classifying the data sets to the interface processor.

  • Publication number: 20080076706
Abstract: The growth hormone supergene family comprises greater than 20 structurally related cytokines and growth factors. A general method is provided for creating site-specific, biologically active conjugates of these proteins. The method involves adding cysteine residues to non-essential regions of the proteins or substituting cysteine residues for non-essential amino acids in the proteins using site-directed mutagenesis and then covalently coupling a cysteine-reactive polymer or other type of cysteine-reactive moiety to the proteins via the added cysteine residue. Disclosed herein are preferred sites for adding cysteine residues or introducing cysteine substitutions into the proteins, and the proteins and protein derivatives produced thereby. Also disclosed are therapeutic methods for using the cysteine variants of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20070287189
Abstract: The invention provides criteria and methods for selecting optimum subsequence(s) from a target gene for targeting by a zinc finger protein. Some of the methods of target site selection seek to identify one or more target segments having a DNA motif containing one or more so-called D-able subsites having the sequence 5?NNGK3?. Other methods of the invention are directed to selection of target segments within target genes using a correspondence regime between different triplets of three bases and the three possible positions of a triplet within a nine-base site. In another aspect, the invention provides methods of designing zinc finger proteins that bind to a preselected target site. These methods can be used following the preselection of target sites according to the procedures and criteria described above. The methods of design use a database containing information about previously characterized zinc finger proteins.

  • Publication number: 20070088857
Abstract: Host software, such as device drivers, may be able to communicate through a platform interface with one another and with adjunct processors. This interface may be provided by enabling such communications to be snooped and then directed through an adjunct or service processor to sequestered memory locations. The sequestered memory locations may be associated with status registers to announce the availability of information transfers. In addition, the sequestered memory may be made relatively invisible to components running on the host system.
