Publication number: 20250023311Abstract: A wire-untwisting designed for securing and manipulating wires or cables in conjunction with a rotary tool, such as a drill. The device comprises a body with a first end featuring at least one outwardly extending male member capable of being secured within a drill's chuck, facilitating the attachment of the device to the drill. The opposite end of the body contains at least one opening from which at least one fastener extends, designed to attach to wires or cables. The device also includes a spring-loaded sheath, which can be retracted to expose the fastener for wire attachment and then released to cover the fastener, securing the wire while allowing it to extend through the sheath. Patent number: 10926736Abstract: A positional-dependent airbag deployment system is provided. A plurality of tether cutters are configured to cut at least one of a plurality of tethers affixed to an airbag. An image sensor is configured to monitor the position of an occupant's head within a vehicle. In response to detecting a collision event, an airbag controller determines a trajectory of the occupant's head based on the image sensor data and other data and determines a cutting sequence of the tethers such the airbag will be deployed in a trajectory to intercept the occupant's head.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2019Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING NORTH AMERICA, INC.Inventors: Winston Robertson, William Patrick Garrett, George Evans

Publication number: 20160366843Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid application system for plants and the like, the system including a power supply, controller, supply system and a tube member. The tube member is placeable into or connectable to a liquid reservoir to allow liquid from the reservoir to be supplied therefrom to plants and the like. Additionally, a liquid application system is provided having a reservoir in which liquid can be collected, a body of matter in which at least one plant can be planted to grow and a supply system to allow liquid to be selectively removed from the reservoir to be applied to the body of matter, the application of liquid occurring with respect to the condition of a power supply connected to at least the supply system. The system further includes flow rate limiter, for restricting the flow of liquid through the system and into the body of matter.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2016Publication date: December 22, 2016Inventor: George Evans

Publication number: 20160161525Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the time taken for sound to travel a predetermined distance, including a transmitter electroacoustic transducer for transmitting an acoustic signal, and a receiver electroacoustic transducer, spaced from the transmitter electroacoustic transducer, for receiving the transmitted acoustic signal. The apparatus has a sound reflective surface spaced from the receiver electroacoustic transducer, so the latter also receives a reflection of the acoustic signal, and timing electrical circuitry connected to the receiver electroacoustic transducer to provide a measure of the time delay between the respective receptions by the receiver electroacoustic transducer of the acoustic signal and its reflection. The invention extends to a flowmeter (10) which incorporates such apparatus and an anemometer which incorporates such apparatus. The apparatus can be adapted to measure the speed of sound. The invention extends to the corresponding methods which make use of such apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2015Publication date: June 9, 2016Inventors: George Evans, Anthony Charles Robert Stickland, Oliver Stewart Blacklock, Michael John Gill

Patent number: 6038979Abstract: The present invention is a process and material for forming warhead casin The material itself consists of tightly wound carbon fiber bonded by a low temperature (room temperature) resin. This process of formation gives several advantages, including the ease of manufacturing and the elimination of the need to do inside threading as the interior of the casing can be totally formed during winding of the carbon thread. This also increases the speed of the formation process. The use of carbon thread and low temperature resins also gives several key advantages. First, the low temperature aspect of the resin allows the resulting casing to break down at temperatures significantly less than the ignition point of the munitions held within it. Because the fibers tend to separate as the ambient temperature increases, the casing will auto-ventilate at high temperatures. Additionally, since the casing is formed from carbon fibers, it maintains a high tensile strength while minimizing the weight of the casing.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1997Date of Patent: March 21, 2000Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Fred W.
