  • Publication number: 20160366843
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid application system for plants and the like, the system including a power supply, controller, supply system and a tube member. The tube member is placeable into or connectable to a liquid reservoir to allow liquid from the reservoir to be supplied therefrom to plants and the like. Additionally, a liquid application system is provided having a reservoir in which liquid can be collected, a body of matter in which at least one plant can be planted to grow and a supply system to allow liquid to be selectively removed from the reservoir to be applied to the body of matter, the application of liquid occurring with respect to the condition of a power supply connected to at least the supply system. The system further includes flow rate limiter, for restricting the flow of liquid through the system and into the body of matter.

  • Patent number: 9525969
Abstract: Movement information describing a movement of a tracking device is received at a mobile device. The mobile device determines a location associated with the tracking device, and provides the determined location, an identity of the tracking device, and the received movement information to a tracking server. The tracking server is configured to select one or both of the determined location or a previous location of the tracking device stored by the tracking server based on the movement information. The tracking server then provides, in response to a request for location information, the selected one or both of the determined location or a previous location to a requesting entity.

  • Patent number: 9525970
Abstract: A tracking device can securely communicate with a secondary device by generating a hash value based on the identity of the tracking device. If the secondary device cannot resolve the hash value, the hash value can be provided to a tracking server, such as a cloud server, for resolving the hash value. Upon resolving the hash value, the tracking server can store a location of the tracking device in association with the identity of the tracking device. To preserve power, the secondary device can activate location-detection functionality (such as a GPS receive) only in response to the detection of movement of the tracking device, can obtain location information, and can de-activate the location-detection functionality upon providing the location information to the tracking server. The tracking server can associate one or both of a previous location and the current location information based on movement of the tracking device.

  • Publication number: 20160161525
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the time taken for sound to travel a predetermined distance, including a transmitter electroacoustic transducer for transmitting an acoustic signal, and a receiver electroacoustic transducer, spaced from the transmitter electroacoustic transducer, for receiving the transmitted acoustic signal. The apparatus has a sound reflective surface spaced from the receiver electroacoustic transducer, so the latter also receives a reflection of the acoustic signal, and timing electrical circuitry connected to the receiver electroacoustic transducer to provide a measure of the time delay between the respective receptions by the receiver electroacoustic transducer of the acoustic signal and its reflection. The invention extends to a flowmeter (10) which incorporates such apparatus and an anemometer which incorporates such apparatus. The apparatus can be adapted to measure the speed of sound. The invention extends to the corresponding methods which make use of such apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20110083761
Abstract: An apparatus for use in the application of liquid onto a body of matter to provide a watering effect and hence maintain the condition of the body of matter so as to encourage plant growth. The system includes a liquid reservoir, and a pump means and irrigation means so as to allow liquid to be moved from the reservoir and be dispensed onto the body of matter. The operation of the system to dispense liquid can be proportional to at least one environmental component such as the amount of sunlight such that when the body of matter is likely to be drier the system is operated to dispense more liquid.

  • Publication number: 20090056860
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a multi-ply paper product, the process having the steps of: providing a first paper web; providing a second paper web; and providing an apparatus. The apparatus includes: a first pressure roll; an embossing roll; a marrying roll; and a second pressure roll. The embossing roll has a plurality of embossing protrusions wherein each embossing protrusion has a distal end. The first pressure roll and the embossing roll are juxtaposed in an axially parallel relationship to form a first nip therebetween. The first nip has a first nip width. The first pressure roll and the embossing roll are adapted to receive a first paper web at the first nip. The adhesive application roll and the embossing roll are juxtaposed in an axially parallel relationship to form a gap therebetween. The adhesive application roll and the embossing roll are adapted to receive the first paper web, after the first paper web has traversed the first nip, at the gap.
