    Abstract: Data structures used to store data in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system may be configured and custom-generated in a configuration mode of the ERP system where a subset of selectable data fields may be selected to avoid allocating space and resources to unused data fields. The data structures may then be generated in the configuration mode to eliminate the unused data fields at runtime. This in turn saves space and resources that would otherwise be allocated but not used. In ERP systems substantial space and computing resources may be saved by only allocating space and resources to only those resources that a specific customer intends to use.

    Abstract: In one embodiment the present invention includes a computer implemented method of processing information stored in a data structure. The method includes continuously generating individual records and storing the individual records in a database as a plurality of records. The method further includes selecting, according to a time period, a set of the plurality of records that qualify according to the time period. The method further includes moving the set to a table in the database, wherein the table excludes the plurality of records that are not in the set. In this manner, the records may be stored in a number of parallel tables, and this process may be managed at the application level instead of at the database level. Using parallel tables instead of a single large table may offer performance improvements, for example regarding deleting (or archiving) data.

    Abstract: A method of treating a formation penetrated by a wellbore to reduce fluid loss to the formation is carried out by providing a quantity of water-degradable particles formed from a solid polymeric acid precursor having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of greater than 4000. A slurry of the particles is formed with a carrier fluid, which may be an aqueous fluid. The slurry is introduced into the formation through the wellbore at a pressure below the fracture pressure of the treated formation. A treating fluid is subsequently introduced into the formation through the wellbore. The water-degradable particles degrade by contacting the particles with a free aqueous fluid introduced into the formation through the wellbore. The water-degradable particles may have a particle size of from about 0.25 mm or less. The slurry may contain from about 0.01 kg/L to about 0.15 kg/L of the water degradable particles.

Battery (3) and supercapacitor (4) are respectively modelled as: an ideal battery (7) in series with an internal resistance (8); and an ideal capacitor (9) in series with an equivalent series resistance (ESR) (10). Through use of a supercapacitor (4) having a low ESR with respect to the resistance (8), the power supply (1) facilitates continuity of supply to load (2). That is, during peak demand more of the load current will be supplied by supercapacitor (4) due to the lower ESR. Moreover, during times of lower load current demands the battery recharges the supercapacitor. This reduces the peak current needed to be provided by the battery and thereby improves battery longevity.
