  • Publication number: 20100282360
Abstract: A temporary ground covering for displacement on sandy, muddy or boggy ground. The covering includes a woven structure formed of warp and weft. The weave is such that each warp yarn interlaces with the weft yarn, following approximately half the intersections of the rows and columns of the weave. The warp yarn is left in the remaining intersections for each warp yarn to obtain at least one simple tight weave area followed by an area of floats. The alternation of the different areas causes contractions of the weft yarn creating a significant relief of the obtained fabric. The covering includes flat yarns over at least one part of the width of the woven structure on at least on of the surfaces. Each yarn is taken, steadily or not, by weft yarns placed at the end of the projections of the woven surface structure.

  • Publication number: 20100228423
Abstract: A system and method for enhancing vehicle diagnostic and prognostic algorithms and improving vehicle maintenance practices. The method includes collecting data from vehicle components, sub-systems and systems, and storing the collected data in a database. The collected and stored data can be from multiple sources for similar vehicles or similar components and can include various types of trouble codes and labor codes as well as other information, such as operational data and physics of failure data, which are fused together. The method generates classes for different vehicle components, sub-systems and systems, and builds feature extractors for each class using data mining techniques of the data stored in the database. The method also generates classifiers that classify the features for each class. The feature extractors and feature classifiers are used to determine when a fault condition has occurred for a vehicle component, sub-system or system.

  • Patent number: 7747925
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for error correction code (“ECC”) striping. A memory receives sets of data in an original order. The memory stores the sets of data row by row in rows and columns such that user data in each row follows the original order. Each set of data is stored in a different row. An ECC data generator is coupled to the memory. The ECC data generator generates ECC data for each set of data in each row. The ECC data generator appends the generated ECC data to an end of each corresponding row. A modulator device is also coupled to the memory. The modulator device extracts the combined sets of data and ECC data in a striped order comprising a column by column order. A column comprises data from each row.

  • Patent number: 7738741
Abstract: This disclosure is a method and system for the linking of digital images to RFID devices. The method includes providing at least one radio frequency identification device, each radio frequency identification device having a electronic product code; linking one or more of the electronic product codes to a digital image file; and storing the linked digital image file into a memory. The disclosure allows users to easily access only images that are linked to their RFID device. Thereby, this disclosure allows a photographer easy access to potential customers while protecting user's privacy.

  • Publication number: 20100100898
Abstract: A method that allows subscribed content to be available to all users of an account on all devices that are capable of carrying the content. An administrator may tap into the features of the centralized data store to assign personalized usage guidelines and restrictions for all IPTV services available. This includes all devices and users within an administrator's account (including spouse, children, employees. etc.) Thus, an administrator may configure all devices under their control from a convenient centralized location without the need to locally configure each device or user profile. The administrator may enable access controls on the devices in their profiles (or subordinate profiles) from a Web-based system (that is also access controlled). The Web-based system allows the administrator to set content access controls that pertain to any or all devices (such as content blocking˜no “adult” material on any device at any time).

  • Publication number: 20100031454
Abstract: A temporary bridge includes bridge elements intended to be superimposed when the bridge is in a non-deployed position. The bridge elements are articulated one relative to another. Each bridge element includes, on at least at one of its ends, a coupling face configured to cooperate with the coupling face of another bridge element so as to assemble these bridge elements when they are placed in an end to end relation. The temporary bridge includes displacement members for each bridge element, superimposed on another bridge element in a first position, called a non deployed one, between this first position and a second position, called a deployed one, where the coupling faces of the bridge element and of the another bridge element are placed facing one another and coupled. Added or not rolling track can be included.

  • Publication number: 20100017682
Abstract: A method is disclosed which decreases the amount of error correction code data required to detect and correct errors in digital data while still maintaining a specified ability to correct errors in large groups of contiguous data. The present invention accomplishes this by placing distance either in space or in time between bytes grouped mathematically for error correction code calculations. An error affecting contiguous bytes, like scratches or other defects in digital storage media, or certain types of interference in either wired or wireless digital communications, would affect many error correction code groups, but would only affect one byte from each group. The error can easily be corrected using only a one dimensional error correction code, removing the need for a two dimensional product error correction code and the additional data overhead that the column ECC data necessarily adds to the block.

  • Publication number: 20090274339
Abstract: A system for recognizing various human and creature motion gaits and behaviors is presented. These behaviors are defined as combinations of “gestures” identified on various parts of a body in motion. For example, the leg gestures generated when a person runs are different than when a person walks. The system described here can identify such differences and categorize these behaviors. Gestures, as previously defined, are motions generated by humans, animals, or machines. Multiple gestures on a body (or bodies) are recognized simultaneously and used in determining behaviors. If multiple bodies are tracked by the system, then overall formations and behaviors (such as military goals) can be determined.

  • Publication number: 20090074248
Abstract: A gesture recognition interface for use in controlling self-service machines and other devices is disclosed. A gesture is defined as motions and kinematic poses generated by humans, animals, or machines. Specific body features are tracked, and static and motion gestures are interpreted. Motion gestures are defined as a family of parametrically delimited oscillatory motions, modeled as a linear-in-parameters dynamic system with added geometric constraints to allow for real-time recognition using a small amount of memory and processing time. A linear least squares method is preferably used to determine the parameters which represent each gesture. Feature position measure is used in conjunction with a bank of predictor bins seeded with the gesture parameters, and the system determines which bin best fits the observed motion. Recognizing static pose gestures is preferably performed by localizing the body/object from the rest of the image, describing that object, and identifying that description.

  • Publication number: 20080301268
Abstract: A computer implemented method, an apparatus, and a computer usable program product are provided for configuring and modeling server connection and deployment information in an enterprise tooling environment. A software model is provided that comprises a connections object, which includes a plurality of connection objects and deploy spec objects. Each of the connection objects is specific to a backend server type. A deploy controller is provided at run time to examine the connections object for a connection object. A backend resource manager is loaded for a specific application server. If a connection object is present, the backend resource manager loads a connection interpreter, which transforms development time connection information in the connection object to the run time connection information in corresponding deploy spec object and connection factory spec object. The backend resource manager then writes the deployment information to the configurations files of the application server.
