  • Publication number: 20160136676
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying nail tabs to roofing and building cover materials involving the steps of depositing tab material onto the surface of the roofing or building cover material, during or after its manufacture, resulting in a plurality of nail tabs from a lamination roll, and bonding the tabs to the surface of the material by pressure between the lamination roll and said surface. The method also encompasses depositing the tab material or pre-formed tads by a pressure roll in contact with said surface. The tabs preferably ate made substantially of a polymer material and may be hardened or cured by ultra-violet or visible light. The tabs may also be pre-formed and have adhesive backing.

  • Publication number: 20140315727
Abstract: Molecular probes to particular targets may be nucleic acids that may generally possess resistance to degradation when bound to a target molecule. For example, the molecular probes may be generally resistant to nuclease degradation when bound to their target molecules, and generally not resistant to nuclease degradation when unbound to their target molecules. This may be utilized, for example, to selectively degrade unbound molecular probes while preserving the bound molecular probes, which may thus serve as an indication of the presence of their target molecules in a sample.

  • Publication number: 20110224576
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods and devices for tissue collection and analysis, and particularly to methods and devices for collecting, preserving and analyzing biopsy samples. In one aspect, a method for collecting a tissue sample includes disposing a collection device proximate and/or within a tissue, such as of a body, drawing in at least a portion of the tissue into the collection device, adhering the at least a portion of the tissue to at least a portion of the collection device and separating the sample and collection device from the remainder of the tissue and/or body. In general, the method of adhering the tissue sample to the collection device may also preserve the tissue sample, such as, for example, by altering the temperature of the tissue sample.

  • Patent number: 7367896
Abstract: A putter has an elongated head with a face along a long side of the head and an end surface along a short side of the head. The shaft can be positioned to strike a ball with either the face or the end surface. The end surface may have a loft of 5 degrees or more. The shaft is held in each position such that it does not move appreciably while putting, but can be moved to another position by a golfer, optionally with or without tools. In some embodiments, all contact between the shaft and the head is made through one or more resilient, non-metallic materials such as rubber. In some embodiments, a ball on the end of the shaft is held in a cavity in the head by an annular nut. O-rings or other elements separate the ball from components fixed to the head and the nut can be tightened or loosened to adjust the friction provided by the O-rings or other elements. In some embodiments, the shaft can alternately be made fixable or moveable relative to the head by manipulating, for example twisting, the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7360341
Abstract: A column mounted shoring bracket has a support sub-assembly attached to a column or other supporting surface, a jack sub-assembly attached to the support and a head sub-assembly attached to a part of the jack that varies in height relative to the support. The head has a head base that supports one or more rollers for moving a form. The head also has a supporting plate for supporting the form. The supporting plate is connected to the head base so that it may be slid upwards and fixed in a position where the top of the supporting plate is above the top of the rollers, for example to carry the weight of a slab being built, or slid downwards so that the top of the supporting plate is below the top of the rollers which do not have to carry the weight of the slab being built. The angular position of the rollers may be aligned with an external reference such as the side of a column, a wall, or a jig.

  • Patent number: 7159262
Abstract: An overhang bracket has a top member, a side member and a diagonal member. The side and top member may be connected together through a removable connecter. A guardrail post holder allows a guardrail post to be installed at a variety of angles to the top member. Rotating the side member causes the diagonal member to translate up or down the side member. A side member locator extends upwards from the overhang bracket to indicate the location of the side member. A tie rod holder holds a tie rod in an offset position relative to the side member. The side member locator may extend upwards through further parts of the shoring system or bridge overhang structure, for example a floor of a concrete form or rebar. A worker may adjust the overhang bracket in place from a standing position on a supporting structure or the floor of the form.
