  • Publication number: 20030236128
Abstract: A putter has an elongated head with a face along a long side of the head and an end surface along a short side of the head both for striking a ball. The shaft can be positioned to strike a ball with either the face or the end surface. The end surface may have a loft of 5 degrees or more. The shaft is held in each position such that it does not move appreciably while putting, but can be moved to another position by a golfer without tools. In some embodiments, all contact between the shaft and the head is made through one or more resilient, non-metallic materials such as rubber. In some embodiments, a ball on the end of the shaft is held in a cavity in the head by an annular nut. O-rings separate the ball from components fixed to the head and the nut can be tightened or loosened to adjust the friction provided by the O-rings.

  • Patent number: 6103078
Abstract: The present invention provides improved ionically conducting membranes having internal passages therethrough and methods for making the improved membranes. The membranes may be formed from any ionically conducting material. In particular, the membranes may be formed of a single ionically conducting material, such as in a cation-conductive or anion-conductive membrane, or a plurality of ionically conducting material, such as in a bipolar membrane having a cation-selective region, an anion-selective region, and an interfacial region between the anion-selective region and the cation-selective region.

  • Patent number: 6059258
Abstract: A support structure for temporarily shoring poured concrete slabs in place. The support structure can be assembled and/or disassembled on site. The structure includes post shores which act as the legs of a shoring tower when assembled with ledgers, stringers, joists and/or cross braces, but can also be used separately as single post shores. The support structure can be adjusted to a number of heights and configurations. The ledgers are mounted to the post shores with T-bolts for ease of assembly and disassembly.

  • Patent number: 5846446
Abstract: A first ice making bag (110) comprises a first envelope (112) which comprises a first envelope top (112T) and a first envelope bottom (112B). The first ice making bag (110) further comprises a first binding (114) which comprises a first peripheral binding (114A). A first left peripheral opening binding (114AL), and a first right peripheral opening binding (114AR). The first left peripheral opening binding (114AL) and the first right peripheral opening binding (114AR) form a gap therebetween. The first binding (114) functions to form a pocket between the first envelope top (112T) and the first envelope bottom (112B). The first ice making bag (110) further comprises at least one first opening binding (114B) forming an air channel between the first left peripheral opening binding (114AL) or the first right peripheral opening binding (114AR) and the at least one first opening binding (114B).

  • Patent number: 5813185
Abstract: A tie rod assembly for use with forms for forming a wall of pourable, curable material. Each assembly has a rod having opposite threaded ends and two spacers. Each of the spacers has a first conical section having a recessed opening at an apex region of a concave conical guide surface and a hexagonal recess surrounding the apex region, and a second conical section having a threaded bore communicating with the apex opening. The threaded bore has a coil thread nut integrated with the conical second section. The concave conical guide presents a target for directing a remotely inserted bolt towards the apex region for engagement with the coil thread nut.

  • Patent number: 5326065
Abstract: A foot or top plate assembly for a shoring structure or tower comprises a wedged pin, a screw jack having an end adapted to receive the wedged pin in a friction fit, a foot plate having a first support for receiving the wedged pin in a friction fit and a second support for supporting the wedged pin. The first and second supports adapted to receive the hollow end in a sliding fit. The wedged pin connects the foot plate to the screw jack, whereby as the wedged pin is moved between an engaged position and a disengaged position the base plate moves relative to the screw jack.

  • Patent number: 5310153
Abstract: A shoring post comprises a support post slidingly engaging a telescoping sleeve member and a screw device for incrementally adjusting the length of the shoring post. The telescoping member having a plurality of pairs of diametrically opposed holes spaced therealong. A pin member for inserting through a pair of the diametrically opposed holes of the telescoping member to releasably extend the shoring post. A quick release washer for quickly reducing an overall length of the shoring post. The washer comprising a ring portion having a pair of diametrically opposed cam lobes. The lobes having an inclined surface, a cradling surface and a stop. The washer is mounted between the pin and the support post. The washer has a load transfer position wherein the pin is cradled between the cradling surface and the stop surface and a quick release position whereby as the washer is rotated relative to the pin, the pin travels along the inclined surface reducing the overall length of the shoring post.

  • Patent number: 5273415
Abstract: A concrete forming apparatus for use in construction of buildings having poured concrete floors spanning between two adjacent supports at a desired height is disclosed. The apparatus includes a frame having extensible strut members extending capable of temporarily fixing the height of the frame, supports for supporting and maneuvering the frame and rollers for rolling the frame along as the frame is flown from under the concrete floor up onto the concrete floor. The supports include a first trucking device adapted to engage the frame for raising the frame from a rest position whereby the frame is spaced above a floor surface to a pouring position whereby the upper deck is substantially at the desired height and for rolling the frame to a desired location. The supports further include a support device for supporting the frame while in the pouring position during the pouring and curing of the concrete floor having means for finely adjusting the height of the frame prior to the pouring of the concrete.

  • Patent number: 5112155
Abstract: A connector for assembling components of scaffolding is disclosed comprising a barrel having an opposite end having a longitudinally extending slot. A pivot pin and an abutment pin extends across the slot and mounted at the opposite end of the barrel. A free hanging latch has an offset aperture for pivotally mounting onto the pivot pin and a channel for receiving the abutment pin. One end of the channel is configured to abut with the abutment pin when the latch is in a locked position and the other end of the channel being configured to abut the abutment pin when the latch is in an unlocked position. The latch has a tab which is offset beyond the end of the barrel whereby pressing on the tab, the latch pivots from the locked position to the unlocked position allowing egress of the brace from the connector.
