  • Patent number: 9904784
Abstract: A kernel-level security agent is described herein. The kernel-level security agent is configured to observe events, filter the observed events using configurable filters, route the filtered events to one or more event consumers, and utilize the one or more event consumers to take action based at least on one of the filtered events. In some implementations, the kernel-level security agent detects a first action associated with malicious code, gathers data about the malicious code, and in response to detecting subsequent action(s) of the malicious code, performs a preventative action. The kernel-level security agent may also deceive an adversary associated with malicious code. Further, the kernel-level security agent may utilize a model representing chains of execution activities and may take action based on those chains of execution activities.

  • Patent number: 9858626
Abstract: Techniques for social sharing security information between client entities forming a group are described herein. The group of client entities is formed as a result of a security server providing one or more secure mechanisms for forming a group among client entities, the client entities each belonging to a different organization. The security service then automatically shares security information of a client entity in the group with one or more other client entities in the group.

  • Publication number: 20170346723
Abstract: Implementations of discovery functionalities in accordance with the present invention are characterized by being exceptionally minimalistic. A primary reason and benefit for such minimalistic implementations relate to these discovery functionalities being implemented via a management processor and associated resources of a system on a chip (SoC) unit as opposed to them being implemented on data processing components of a cluster of nodes (i.e., central processing core components). By focusing on such a minimalist implementation, embodiments of the present invention allow discovery functionalities to be implemented on a relatively low-cost low-power management processor coupled to processing cores that provide for data serving functionality in the cluster of nodes.

  • Publication number: 20170315947
Abstract: A crossbar switch comprises two or more data inputs 10, two or more data outputs 100, a buffer 30 between the inputs and the outputs, an arbiter 52 associated with each output and configured to select data from one of the inputs when there is contention at the output, a bypass 32 associated with the buffer so that the buffer can be enabled or disabled, and a buffer controller 60 configured to enable or disable the buffer. The buffer controller further includes an accumulator 70 configured to assess whether a time-based average of the contention rate, or an average injection rate, at the output associated with the buffer, has reached a predetermined threshold. This prevents the buffer being enabled when the contention is only intermittent, which reduces power consumption without significant loss of performance.

  • Publication number: 20170262599
Abstract: Computer-aided telemedical evaluation is described. A computing environment can receive a video comprising frames of a subject in motion. The computing environment can identify one or more anatomical features of the subject and determine one or more gait cycle patterns for the anatomical features by tracking motion of the anatomical features over a number of frames of the video. The computing environment can also examine the gait cycle patterns to identify symmetry, asymmetry, and other characteristics in the gait cycle patterns with respect to each other, the anatomical features of the subject, and/or inanimate features of the surroundings. Based on the examination, the computing environment can also provide an evaluation of the subject in the video. The evaluation can include the identification of one or more limbs associated with lameness in the subject. Care can then be administered to the subject, in part, based on the evaluation.
