Abstract: Aluminum tris(N-oxypyridine-2-thiolate) is useful in the prophylaxis or treatment of any pathological manifestation in which the presence of a microorganism is involved. It is a new compound made by the reaction of aluminum isopropylate with the N-oxide of pyridine-2-thiol.

Abstract: Aminated .gamma.-dialdehyde and the quaternary ammonium salts thereof are prepared by acid hydrolysis of their respective corresponding 2,5-dialkoxy 3-amino 4-hydroxy tetrahydrofurans or by acid hydrolysis of their respective corresponding tetraalkyl acetals. The aminated .gamma.-dialdehydes and the quaternary ammonium salts thereof are usefully employed in cosmetic compositions to tan the skin or to strengthen or restructure the hair.

Abstract: An antiperspirant-deodorant composition containing in a cosmetic carrier an active compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is chlorine, bromine and R.sub.1 SO.sub.3 wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, phenyl, chlorophenyl, hydroxyphenyl and 2-oxo 10-bornanyl and R is hydrogen, chlorine, methyl or methoxy.

Abstract: A heterocyclic aluminum compound of the formula ##EQU1## wherein n is 1 or 2. When n is 1, Z is --CH=CH--. When n is 2, Z is either --(CH.sub.2).sub.m wherein m is 0-6, or a heteroatom selected from --O--, --S--, >SO, >SO.sub.2 or >N--COR' where R' is an aliphatic hydrocarbon of 1-17 carbon atoms, --(CH.sub.2).sub.q --C.sub.6 H.sub.5 where q is 0 or 1, styryl, diphenyl methyl or phenyl optionally substituted by chlorine, fluorine, methyl and alkoxy having 1-4 carbon atoms. The compound can be prepared by reacting isopropyl aluminate with an .omega.-diol of the formula ##EQU2## wherein Z has the meaning given above and then reacting the resulting product with dry HCl or an acyl chloride of the formula R'--COCl wherein R' has the meaning given above. The heterocyclic aluminum compound exhibits antiperspirant activity. It can be used in cosmetic antiperspirant compositions comprising a cosmetic vehicle and about 0.2-30 weight percent thereof based on the weight of said composition.
