  • Publication number: 20050057076
Abstract: The motor vehicle fender support comprises a metal core with a top portion provided with fasteners for fastening to a fender. The top portion is provided with ribs arranged to stiffen it in the event of stress being directed in the transverse direction, and to buckle in the event of downwardly-directed impacts, when the fender support is mounted on the vehicle. The metal core also includes openings seeking to reduce its stiffness so as to satisfy predefined deceleration criteria. The fender support also comprises a rigid bottom portion designed to be fastened to the structure of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20050040672
Abstract: The invention relates to a cross-member to be found in the proximity of a bodywork part capable of moving towards the cross-member, said cross-member being fitted with an inertia part and a stabilization part for geometrically stabilizing the inertia part. The stabilization part is longitudinally subdivided into a first portion located beside the bodywork part, and a second portion located remote from the bodywork part. The first and second portions are designed in such a manner that in the event of the bodywork part being subjected to a force equivalent to an impact against a pedestrian, said part can move towards second portion while deforming the inertia part and the first portion, without the second portion deforming. The invention also provides a front end module including such a cross-member.

  • Patent number: 6715764
Abstract: The invention relates to an assemblage of two pieces of bodywork (1, 2) each having a flange (5, 6) for pressing against the flange of the other piece. Each flange carries at least one tongue (11, 12) extending towards the other piece. A fastener member (20) is suitable for engaging around the tongues so to prevent them from moving relative to one another once said two pieces of bodywork are in a predetermined position in which they are united flange against flange. The invention also provides the pieces of bodywork constituting said assemblage.

  • Patent number: 5320963
Abstract: A bioreactor for perfusion culture of suspension cells has an inversely-conical tank which includes a cell culture zone and a cell settling zone disposed annularly relative to the cell culture zone in the upper region of the tank. The cell settling zone is adjacent to the conical walls of the tank and has a number of frustoconical lamellar elements. The two zones are separated with a partition which allows the zones to communicate only below the partition. Cell culture medium supplied to the culture zone overflows at the top of the settling zone after having passed through the settling zone between the lamellar elements. Due to the conical shape of the tank and the resulting shape of the settling zone, passages of upwardly increasing cross section are created in the settling zone thus enabling the settling of live cells in the settling zone and their return to the culture zone while the spent medium overflows. The design is relatively easy to scale up.

  • Patent number: 5010006
Abstract: A dry porous macromolecular matrix is prepared comprising a cross-linked mixture of 69.9 to 86.6% by weight of an inert protein 0.4 to 10.2% by weight of a lipase enzyme and about 11.7 to 23% by weight of a cross-linking agent. The matrix is prepared by reacting the lipase, inert protein and cross-linking agent in a buffer solution, freezing the resulting reacted mixture at a temperature ranging between -20.degree. C. and -195.degree. C., allowing the frozen mixture to thaw to a temperature ranging from 4.degree. C. to 25.degree. C., and rinsing and drying the resulting product at room temperature.
