  • Patent number: 5669697
Abstract: A sun visor for mounting upon a vehicle without drilling special holes or providing added mounting brackets. The visor includes a visor body configured for mounting adjacent the vehicle's front windshield. Light apertures are preferably included in the visor body. At least one mounting extension extends rearwardly from the visor body to form a mount. The mounting extension also forms a portion of an enclosure. Light is conveyed to the light apertures such as through the enclosures. A mounting connection is used to provide a mechanical connection between the mounting extension and a clearance light fixture or feature formed on the vehicle cab.

  • Patent number: 5618323
Abstract: An air intake system for a cab and engine of a vehicle is shown and described. In a preferred embodiment, dry, ambient air is provided to the cab and engine through a duct that is mounted to an inner surface of a vehicle hood such that the hood forms a top surface of the duct. The duct is relatively narrow across the width of the hood and flares into an air chamber on either side of the hood. An air inlet opening is provided on both sides of the hood such that outside air is drawn into the air chambers. The velocity of the air drops as it passes into and through the air chambers, causing the moisture in the air to separate and drain from the air chambers through an evacuator valve provided in the bottom surface of each chamber. Two openings are provided in the bottom surface of the duct. One opening sealingly engages an opening in the engine air cleaner and the second opening sealingly engages a cab air intake duct, when the hood is in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5560673
Abstract: A truck cab and sleeper assembly is shown and described. In a preferred embodiment, a cab having no rear wall and a sleeper having no front wall are coupled together via bolts and a compressive seal. An internal rain gutter and an adhesive sealant are further provided to seal the interface between the cab and sleeper against moisture. The cab and sleeper may therefore be easily separated by cutting the adhesive sealant and unbolting the two structures. Because there are no walls between the cab and sleeper, access between the two is substantially unrestricted. The roof of both the cab and the sleeper slope upward in a rearward direction, thereby providing sufficient head room, together with the unrestricted access, to allow an occupant of the truck to comfortably transition frown a seated position in the cab to a standing position in the sleeper, and vice versa.
