  • Patent number: 8249426
Abstract: A method (100) of automatically editing audio and visual recordings to produce an audio-visual production using computer processing means. The method (100) involves a first step (101) of setting production criteria in which the desired production duration, target device, maximum execution time and location of media files are specified. In a second step (102) a style is selected for applying to the media files. A third step (103) of selecting ones of the media files involves selecting those media files in folders which have been accessed most recently by a user, based on awarding a score to folders. In a fourth step (104), the selected style is applied. This is followed in a fifth step (105) by rendering the production to the target device.

  • Publication number: 20120168061
Abstract: A sleeve bearing assembly and method of construction therefor includes a woven inner portion bonded to an injection molded elastic outer portion. The inner portion includes a first yarn of lubricious yarn material and a second yarn of material that is different than the first yarn. The first yarn substantially provides an inner bearing surface and the second yarn substantially provides an outer surface that is bonded to the outer portion. The first and second yarns are woven together so that the first yarn is woven in one of a weft direction corresponding to a circumferential direction of the journal bearing surface or a warp direction corresponding to an axial direction of the journal bearing surface to substantially provide the bearing surface and the second yarn is woven in a direction different than the first yarn to substantially provide the outer surface bonded to the outer portion.

  • Patent number: 8187133
Abstract: A lubrication system for transporting lubrication oil in an automatic transmission includes a radial lubrication passage opening at a hole in an outer peripheral surface of a shaft. The hole has a cross section that is elongated only along a first axis offset from a central axis the shaft so as to follow angular deformation caused by unidirectional torque applied to the shaft whereby stress produced around the hole by torque transmitted through the rotating shaft is reduced, thus minimizing fatigue and increasing a useful life of the automatic planetary transmission. Preferably cross sections of the radial passage taken sequentially along the transverse axis are elongated near outer peripheral surface of the shaft but become circular towards the central axis. With this arrangement stress produced around the hole by torque transmitted through the rotating shaft is reduced thus reducing fatigue and increasing a useful life of the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20120118956
Abstract: A method is provided of transmitting information with a communication protocol to a mobile device. A card reader is provided with a read head that has a slot for swiping a magnetic stripe of a card, an output jack and device electronics that includes a microcontroller. The read head is used to read data on a magnetic stripe of a card. A raw magnetic signal is produced indicative of data stored on the magnetic stripe. The raw magnetic head signal is converted into a processed digital signal that the microcontroller can interpret. A synchronous Manchester encoded stream is produced that makes a greater number of 0 crossings. A Manchester encoded stream output jack signal is delivered to the mobile device through the output jack.

  • Publication number: 20100286877
Abstract: A system and method is employed to regulate a minimum transmission input speed based on automatic fluid temperature. The system includes a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the automatic transmission fluid and a controller for setting a minimum engine speed of the engine based on the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid. The size of a transmission pump may be reduced while the pump is still able to supply enough automatic transmission fluid to friction elements and gear ratios to provide lubrication and enable friction element actuators to engage and disengage the friction elements in a timely and effective manner. In a preferred form of the invention, when the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid is below 210° F., the minimum engine speed is set to no greater than 900 rpm; and when the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid is above 210° F., the minimum engine speed is set to no less than 1000 rpm.

  • Publication number: 20100251560
Abstract: A sleeve consisting of metal and having a planar base manufactured to low fabrication tolerances for holding a cartridge, or other container for pharmaceutical products, filled with a pharmaceutical product, prior to, and during, freeze-drying is proposed. The sleeve has a cylindrical receptacle, into which a cartridge may be inserted. The base of that receptacle may have openings. Since the base of the metallic sleeve is manufactured to low fabrication tolerances, heat transfer from the cooling plate on which the sleeve containing the cartridge stands to the sleeve will be improved. Heat transfer from the sleeve to the interior of the cartridge will also be improved, since the latter is surrounded by the sleeve over the full length of the sleeve, thereby forming an enlarged surface, along which radiative heat transfer takes place. The sleeve preferably extends up to the level of the liquid pharmaceutical product arranged in the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 7716572
Abstract: A method in which a pre-existing music video (which may be a professionally-created music video) is intercut with an end-user's own additional visual data (pictures or video). In a first phase, a plurality of temporal sections are defined in a pre-existing music video. In a second phase, which may be performed by a non-professional end-user, video data specified by the end-user are intercut with the pre-existing music video according to the temporal sections.
