Abstract: A brewing unit comprises a body containing a brewing chamber with vertical axis capable of receiving a pressing plunger mounted mobile along the vertical axis, and a hydraulic jack whereof the piston rod is connected to the pressing plunger and can pass from an inoperative position to a working position, by the effect of a liquid under pressure. The hydraulic jack is a single-acting actuator, the piston rod being returned in inoperative position by compressible and extensible elements. The invention is applicable to espresso coffee brewing machines.

Abstract: The invention concerns a brewing unit comprising a body (10) with a longitudinal axis (V) containing an infusion chamber (31) capable of receiving a pressing plunger (62) mounted mobile along the axis (V) by a drive mechanism (59), pumping member (40) for circulating water and brew, and a boiler (60) for heating the water for the preparation of the brew in the chamber (31). The invention is characterized in that the boiler (60) and the body (10) are formed in one single piece made of a heat conducting material with heating electrical resistance (26), water heating and passage channels (30) whereof the inlets (33) are connected to a cold water reservoir (R) and the ends (33′) emerge in the brewing chamber (31); and the pressing plunger (62) has a conduit (42) for the passage of the brew emerging through an outlet (42b), whereas the pumping member (40) is adapted to generate an ascending circulation of water in the brewing chamber (31) towards the conduit (42).

Abstract: An automatic household-type machine of a kind which comprises a percolation chamber having an outlet conduit for dispensing the coffee percolate, a heated water storage boiler, a pump having its delivery side communicated with the chamber and suction side communicated with the boiler, and an electronic control device linked operatively to a timer for activating the pump for pre-set time periods, further comprises a heater plate carried on a machine base and a manually operated two-way valve mounted on the free end of the outlet conduit from the percolation chamber. Connected to respective outlets of the valve are a first conduit for dispensing espresso coffee and a second conduit extending cantilever-fashion over the plate and being adapted to dispense German coffee percolate.

Abstract: The boiler includes a tight receptacle having a replenishment manifold which opens into the receptacle at an intermediate level thereof so as to define a first replenishment level. The boiler also includes a normally closed valve controllable to open for venting off the receptacle and thereby defining a second replenishment level thereof which is higher than the first level.
