  • Patent number: 11281520
Abstract: Automated methods and systems described herein are directed to identifying potential root causes of a problem in a data center. Methods and systems receipt an alert or other notification of a problem occurring in a data center and a time when the problem was noticed. A search window is created based on the time and a stream of log messages generated in the search window is converted into a time dependent metric. An anomaly detection technique is applied to the metric to determine a start time of a problem. Logging events and key phrases in the log messages are identified in the search window and presented as potential root causes of the problem. The potential root cause may then be used by system administrators and/or tenants to diagnose the problem and execute remedial measures to correct the problem.

  • Publication number: 20180302489
Abstract: Features are disclosed for generating bundles of content items and proactively providing the bundles to client devices. The bundles may be provided to client devices in response to requests for the content page that references the content items in the bundle, or in response to a request for a content page hosted by the same domain as the content items in the bundle. A browser module executing on the client device can extract the referenced content items in the bundle and cache them in a local content cache at the client device prior to the client device receiving and processing a requested content page. As a result, the browser module may have access to cached versions of referenced content items when processing the requested content page even if the referenced content items were not present when the requested content page was requested.

  • Patent number: 9838494
Abstract: An intermediary system reduces a delay associated with the compression and transmission of content resources to a user's device. For example, the intermediary system compresses a first content resource, generates a signature of the first content resource, stores the compressed first content resource and the generated signature, and transmits the compressed first content resource to the user's device. When the user's device or another user's device requests a second content resource at a later time, the intermediary system generates a signature of the second content resource and compares it with the signature of the first content resource. If the signatures match (meaning the first and second content resources are very likely identical), then the intermediary system merely transmits the compressed first content resource to the appropriate device instead of first compressing the second content resource and then transmitting the compressed second content resource to the appropriate device.

  • Patent number: 9510205
Abstract: A services node or central controller or coordinator is provided that dynamically computes fractional frequency reuse allocation among user equipment in a radio access network. The central controller or coordinator communicates the fractional frequency reuse allocation and configures the individual MAC schedulers within each radio node in the radio access network. Inputs to the central coordinator may include its serving radio node, a detected set of radio nodes, and information about user equipment buffer status both in the downlink and uplink. In one implementation, interference graphs are constructed for downlinks and uplink separately and the same are used with a heuristic independent set algorithm to compute the frequency allocation.

  • Patent number: 9356764
Abstract: A method of joint processing of data in a radio access network (RAN) that includes a plurality of radio nodes each associated with a cell and a services node operatively coupled to the radio nodes is provided. The services node provides connectivity to a core network. The method includes determining that a plurality of first UEs (User Equipment) each being serviced by a selected set of the cells is to operate in accordance with a hybrid joint processing scheme. Information is transferred between the plurality of first UEs and the radio nodes in accordance with the hybrid joint processing scheme by performing L1 layer processing on the radio nodes and L2 layer processing at the services node.

  • Patent number: 9014250
Abstract: A channel in a multiple carrier communication system is equalized by computing a desired spectral response, shortening the impulse response of the channel so that a significant part of an energy of the impulse response is confined to a region that is shorter than a target length and filtering the signal based on the desired spectral response. A multiple carrier communication system may include a primary impulse shortening filter that receives an output signal of an analog to digital converter and accepts coefficients. A secondary impulse shortening filter may receive the output signal of the analog to digital converter, output an output signal, and pass coefficients to the primary impulse shortening filter. A reference signal generator may output a reference signal. A comparator may compare the output signal and the reference signal and output a resulting error signal. An adaptive processor may compute coefficients for the secondary impulse shortening filter based on the error signal.

  • Patent number: 8843638
Abstract: A connection is established between an access terminal and a first radio network controller through a first radio node. The first radio node is controllable primarily by the first radio network controller. The connection is maintained with the first radio network controller as the access terminal moves from a coverage area of the first radio node toward a coverage area of a second radio node. The second radio node is controllable primarily by a second radio network controller and controllable subordinately by the first radio network controller. A connection is also established through the second radio node. Upon a fulfillment of a predetermined criterion, the connection is transferred from the first radio network controller to the second radio network controller.

  • Patent number: 7983708
Abstract: The description describes examples for performing reverse link power control in a mobile network having a plurality of first modem devices that receive and transmit signals to wireless access terminals (ATs) and a second device in communication with the plurality of first devices. Execution is transitioned between a first and a second loop to control reverse link power of one of the ATs. The transition is based on a state of a connection. The first control loop executes at one of the first devices and the second loop executes at the second device.
