  • Publication number: 20070238476
Abstract: In a radio access network, techniques for determining how often an aces terminal in communication with the network is to monitor a channel of the network based on trigger information received from the access terminal that is specific to one or more of the following: a state of the terminal, a state of a premium application, and a user of the terminal. The trigger information includes information about one or more of the following: a power mode of the access terminal, a user profile identification, an activation of a premium application on the terminal, and a terminal of a premium application on the terminal.

  • Patent number: 7242958
Abstract: Techniques for transmitting encoded data packets to one or more mobile stations in a communication system including a cell that has sectors serving at least partially different geographic areas. The techniques include transmitting in a first sector an encoded data packet in one or more time slots to a mobile station; reducing transmission power in a second sector during one or more of the time slots in which the first sector transmits the data packet to the mobile station; decoding at the mobile station the encoded data packet after each time slot; transmitting by the mobile station a signal indicating acknowledgment of the packet reception when the decoding of the packet is successful; and in response to receiving the acknowledgement signal, ceasing transmission of the data packet in the first sector in subsequent time slots.

  • Publication number: 20070058628
Abstract: In a radio access network, techniques for multicasting information from a radio network controller to radio nodes. The techniques further include broadcasting the information from the radio nodes to mobile access terminals. The information can include content to be delivered to the access terminals.

  • Publication number: 20050245279
Abstract: The description describes examples for performing reverse link power control in a mobile network having a plurality of first modem devices that receive and transmit signals to wireless access terminals (ATs) and a second device in communication with the plurality of first devices. Execution is transitioned between a first and a second loop to control reverse link power of one of the ATs. The transition is based on a state of a connection. The first control loop executes at one of the first devices and the second loop executes at the second device.

  • Publication number: 20050243749
Abstract: This description describes examples of performing reverse link power control in a mobile network having a plurality of first modem devices that receive and transmit signals to wireless access terminals (ATs) and a second device in communication with the plurality of first devices. One of the first devices derives a first power control threshold (PCT) value for reverse link power of one of the access terminals (ATs) and the second device derives a second power control threshold (PCT) value for reverse link power of the one of the ATs. The second power control threshold (PCT) value is transmitted using a data traffic path and either the first PCT value or the second PCT value is selected.

  • Publication number: 20040258146
Abstract: A multiple carrier communication system includes a primary impulse shortening filter that receives an output signal of an analog to digital converter and accepts coefficients. A secondary impulse shortening filter receives the output signal of the analog to digital converter, outputs an output signal, and passes coefficients to the primary impulse shortening filter. A reference signal generator outputs a reference signal. A comparator compares the output signal and the reference signal and outputs a resulting error signal. An adaptive processor computes coefficients for the secondary impulse shortening filter based on the error signal.
