  • Patent number: 6439846
Abstract: The invention relates to an impact flow for wall sections including a plurality of impact openings which are arranged on a plane in a flat or curved support. The support is fitted it a distance from the wall section, and the impact surface of the wall section that is to be cooled is configured as a bulged relief. The bulge elements are arranged around the impact surface of the impact beam. The surfaces of the bulge elements facing the impact beam include two curves which blend into one another.

  • Patent number: 6435256
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a cooled cast part for a thermal turbo machine by using a known casting process. Between a wax model of the cast part and a ceramic core, a wax seal is applied by hand above a step, only on an additional shoulder. The material that is created during the casting process at this point by the shoulder and the wax seal can be ground off without causing rough areas on the step to form. This simplifies the welding or soldering of a cooling plate to the step.

  • Publication number: 20020037230
Abstract: A screw compressor having an unloader valve with a movable valve member, the unloader valve being capable of indicating when the valve member is installed incorrectly. The valve member is manufactured such that if it is installed incorrectly it provides a leakage path sufficiently large to be detected during full load testing of the compressor. When the screw compressor fails the load test, the compressor is partially disassembled, and the valve is reinstalled in the proper orientation and the compressor is re-tested. The valve member leakage path is provided while maintaining low costs for production and assembly of the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20020029863
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a cooled cast part (1) for a thermal turbo machine by using a known casting process. Between a wax model (10) of the cast part (1) and a ceramic core (6), a wax seal (8) is applied by hand above a step (7), only on an additional shoulder (9). The material that is created during the casting process at this point by the shoulder (9) and the wax seal (8) can be ground off without causing rough areas on the step (7) to form. This simplifies the welding or soldering of a cooling plate to the step (7).

  • Patent number: 6261053
Abstract: A hot-gas stream (40) flows along the surface of a segment arrangement for shroud bands, in particular in a gas turbine. The segment arrangement comprises segments (20, 20′) arranged next to one another and in each case separated from one another by a gap (12). The hot-gas stream (40), in at least one section (70) of the gap (12), has a velocity component perpendicular to the direction of the gap from a first segment (20) to a second segment (20′). In this case, in said section (70), along that edge (26) of the first segment (20) which faces the gap (12), at least one film-cooling bore (52) connects a cooling-air chamber (50), allocated to the first segment, to the surface (22) subjected to the hot-gas stream (40), and/or, in said section (70), along that edge (26′) of the second segment (20′) which faces the gap (12), at least one edge-cooling bore (56) connects a cooling-air chamber (50′), allocated to the second segment, to the inside (28′) of the gap (12).

  • Patent number: 5977262
Abstract: The reactions of cyclic carbonates, especially 1,3-dioxolan-2-ones, with amines, especially primary amines, are catalyzed by the presence of a base whose conjugate acid has a pKa of about 11 or more. The products are hydroxy urethanes, and the process can be used to form crosslinked polymers which contain urethane groups. Such crosslinked polymers are useful in coatings.

  • Patent number: 5340990
Abstract: A multichannel analyzer incorporating the features of the present invention obtains the effect of fractional channels thus greatly reducing the number of actual channels necessary to record complex line spectra. This is accomplished by using an analog-to-digital converter in the asynscronous mode, i.e., the gate pulse from the pulse height-to-pulse width converter is not synchronized with the signal from a clock oscillator. This saves power and reduces the number of components required on the board to achieve the effect of radically expanding the number of channels without changing the circuit board.
