Abstract: Spray compositions and particularly anhydrous aerosol compositions containing particulate antiperspirant actives exhibit a tendency for nozzle blockage, impeding discharge of the contents when a polyol humectant, such as glycerol, is blended into its base composition. The problem is overcome or at least ameliorated by preparation of a base composition, suitable for employment in conjunction with a propellant, that contains a low molecular weight (liquid) polyethylene glycol (PEG) as humectant, and particularly a PEG of molecular weight 150 to 500.

Abstract: In order to discriminate between laminar flow and turbulent flow states, and to provide an indication, e.g. to a pilot of an aircraft of air flow over an aircraft wing, a sensor mounted on the wing provides an analogue signal of airflow, and an intermittency value of the analogue signal is derived in analogue circuitry including an AC coupling of the signal to an integrator for integrating the signal for a preset time. The integrated value is compared with a threshold value to indicate whether the intermittency represents quiet laminar flow or noisy turbulent flow.

The area comprises an upper, equestrian surface layer, and a sub-surface support layer which includes a plurality of laterally arranged load bearing structural modules. Each module comprises a top wall and a bottom wall spaced therefrom by one or more supporting elements so as to define an interior volume between the top and bottom walls, and is provided with at least one aperture to permit the flow of water into and out of the volume. There is means for retaining water within at least some modules in the sub-surface support layer. A water permeable layer that is impermeable to solid particles of the upper, equestrian surface layer is provided between the structural modules and the equestrian surface layer. Wicking means are in fluid communication with the interior volumes of at least some of the modules and have portions extending upwardly to transfer water to the upper, equestrian surface layer from the sub-surface support layer.
