  • Patent number: 5882283
Abstract: A foldable weightlifting bench includes a pair of supporting members each have a post and a transverse bar connected to a lower end of the post. A first connecting rod and a second connected rod are respectively connected between the two posts and the two transverse bars. A base member is pivotally connected to the first connecting rod and located between the two posts, the base member having a stand pivotally connected thereto. A retractable device pivotally connected between the second connecting rod and the base member. A link pivotally connected between the stand and the retractable device. The base member is pivoted about the first connecting rod and the retractable device is then extended to support the base member positioned at an upright position.

  • Patent number: 5772562
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes a base, a substantially U-shaped member, and a substantially U-shaped handle element. The base can be configured as pair of individual foot members. The U-shaped member and handle element are pivotally connected to the base at different positions. A head rest is connected to the U-shaped member at a position intermediate the ends thereof. The pivotal connections can include a resistance producing element. A linking member is pivotally connected to each side of the U-shaped member and the U-shaped handle element. Adjacent sides of said U-shaped member and U-shaped handle are connected by the linking member. The position of the linking member can be adjusted as necessary in order to alter the angular disposition of the U-shaped member relative to the U-shaped handle element.

  • Patent number: 5733228
Abstract: A folding treadmill exercise device includes a frame adapted to extend in a substantially vertical direction during operation of the device and a substantially planar bed having a plurality of rollers and an endless belt disposed about the rollers. The bed is slidably and pivotally connected to the frame proximate a first end of the bed, wherein the bed is adapted to selectively slide along the frame and simultaneously pivot relative to the frame between a substantially horizontal operative position and a substantially vertical storage position. A lift assist mechanism adapted to urge the bed towards an upper end of the frame is provided to facilitate movement of the bed between its operative and storage positions. The bed may also be adjustably connected to the frame wherein height of the first end of the bed is selectively adjustable relative to height of a second end of the bed when the bed is in the substantially horizontal operative position.

  • Patent number: 4160523
Abstract: An air structure comprises a double-skin wall construction having an outer skin that is substantially transparent to short wave solar radiation but relatively opaque to long wave heat radiation and an inner skin. Radiation converter elements, preferably in the form of black plastic diaphragms linking the inner and outer skins and effective to absorb solar radiation and to convert the same to heat energy are disposed in the inter-skin space. The structure is self-erecting on exposure to solar radiation, and may advantageously be combined with a heat store that emits heat and maintains the structure erected under conditions of reduced solar radiation availability. The structure may be free floating or may be anchored to the ground to form, for instance, a greenhouse or other enclosure.
