  • Publication number: 20070164379
Abstract: A method of electrically isolating a MEMS device is provided. In one example, a piezo-resistive pressure sensor having an exposed silicon region undergoes a Local Oxidation of Silicon (LOCOS) process. An electrically insulating structure is created in the LOCOS process. The insulating structure has a rounded, or curved, interface with the piezo-resistive pressure sensor. The curved interface mitigates stresses associated with exposure to high temperatures and pressures. Additionally, the electrically insulating line may be patterned so that it has curved angles, further mitigating stress.

  • Patent number: 7246307
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a structure editor implementing a “top-down” approach to designing a Web page. The user uses a “drag and drop” interface to add, delete, and move display elements to define the hierarchy of the site and to define the layout of each page in the site. The present invention automatically generates a layout for each page. This layout contains display elements that represent the links between pages of the site. The present invention automatically adds, removes, and deletes the appropriate links between the pages of the site as the user moves display elements. After the user has defined the hierarchy of the site and the layout of each page in the site, the user “publishes” the site. The publish function automatically generates HTML for each page of the site in accordance with the display elements of each page, yielding true WYSIWYG pages for the site.

  • Publication number: 20070110516
Abstract: An inertial barrier includes a standard size plastic container and a single size insert that is supported by a ledge inside the container for supporting different amounts of sand or other dispersible granular energy absorbing material thereon to achieve different barrier weight configurations. The insert has an axially upwardly, radially inwardly extending top wall that may be generally frustoconically shaped and is made of a suitable plastic material that permits some downward flexing of the insert inside the container as the weight of the material that is placed on the insert builds up, causing the sides of the insert to expand and push radially outwardly against the container side wall, preventing the material from leaking past the insert inside the container. Axially extending ribs may be provided in the container side wall for increased strength and rigidity.

  • Publication number: 20070072137
Abstract: A system for predicting fouling and corrosion of a combustion system in an industrial process includes a pipe, a restrictive element, and a fouling and corrosion detector. The pipe contains a fuel. The restrictive element is coupled to the pipe and the fuel passes through the restrictive element. The fouling and corrosion detector is coupled to the pipe and is adapted to detect a characteristic signature of the restrictive element and to generate an alarm if a change in the detected signature exceeds a predetermined limit relative to a baseline signature.

  • Publication number: 20070068225
Abstract: A leak detection system is described for detecting a leak through a closed valve disposed between an upstream pipe and a downstream pipe of an industrial process. An insertable plate is coupled to the valve in the pipe in-line with the fluid flow. A sensor couples to the flow and provides a signature output. A leak detector is coupled to the sensor and adapted to detect a leak through the valve based upon the signature output.

  • Publication number: 20070073495
Abstract: Electronic steam trap monitoring is disclosed. An electronic steam trap monitor is operably coupled to an outlet of a steam trap and is configured to measure at least one process variable of fluid (liquid or gas) flowing through the trap, when the trap is known to be working normally. The steam trap monitor stores the process variable information obtained during the known operating condition for later comparison. The steam trap monitor obtains a later process variable measurement and compares it to the stored measurement to selectively generate a leakage indication. The steam trap monitor preferably uses a local power source and communicates wirelessly.

  • Publication number: 20070011717
Abstract: An interactive information platform and method for distribution of interactive information content is shared by a plurality of disparate distribution networks. The interactive information platform includes a plurality of assignable sessions processors that render and encode the information content into a format capable of being decoded by a digital decoder associated with a television on any of the disparate distribution networks. The interactive information platform also includes an operation manager that receives requests for interactive television content from one or more digital decoders in one of a plurality of disparate distribution networks such as a cable television network, a telephone network, or a wireless network. The operation manager establishes an interactive session with the requesting digital decoder and assigns one of the sessions processors to the interactive session.

  • Publication number: 20070010032
Abstract: A method for improving semiconductor yield by in-line repair of defects during manufacturing comprises inspecting dies on a wafer after a selected layer is formed on the dies, identifying defects in each of the dies, classifying the identified defects as killer or non-critical, for each killer defect determining an action to correct the defect, repairing the defect and returning the wafer to a next process step. Also disclosed is a method for determining an efficient repair process by dividing the die into a grid and using analysis of the grid to find a least invasive repair.

  • Publication number: 20060222474
Abstract: A system (100, 600, 700) for fastening objects to a wall or ceiling (120) comprises a rear, wall-anchor section (105, 607, 705) with a bore, and a front, pivotable section (110, 602, 604, 720), rigidly abutted together with no gap, aligned by a projection (135), and connected by a “living” hinge, strap, flap, lanyard or other type of connector (115). The pivotable section has a sharpened tip (112, 630, 635, 725) for penetrating the wall while the fastener is forced into the wall by a hammer or other driving tool or device, or manually by hand. The two sections of the fastener have a tapered, elliptical cross-section (111) which both prevents rotation of the fastener and locally reduces load-responsive pressure in the wallboard. To install, the axes of the wall-anchor and pivotable sections of the fastener are first aligned. The fastener is forced into the wall one of the above means. Then a pin (140) is manually inserted into the bore of the wall-anchor section.
