  • Publication number: 20160074265
Abstract: A caster locking mechanism includes a foot movable between retracted and extended positions, a lock bar movable from an unlocked to a locked position, a release bar movable from an initial to a release position, and a lock and release assembly. The lock and release assembly includes a guide plate defining a slot, a rocker coupled to the lock bar and including a protrusion slidably disposed within the slot, and a release member coupled to the release bar and including a protrusion slidably disposed within the slot. Moving the lock bar to the locked position slides the protrusion of the rocker through the slot to extend the foot. Moving the release bar to the release position urges the protrusion of the release member through the and into contact with the protrusion of the rocker to urge the protrusion of the rocker back, thereby retracting the foot.

  • Patent number: 9179645
Abstract: A dispenser that delivers a small but consistent and sustained amount of liquid over an extended period of time, particularly useful but not limited to dispensing pesticides when worn by cattle. The dispenser has a shell having an opening. A reservoir is disposed in the shell and holds a pesticide or other liquid. A wick is in fluid communication with the reservoir. An end of the wick is positioned adjacent the opening and has a greater capillary attraction or wicking ability than the reservoir, whereby during use of the dispenser the wick draws fluid from the reservoir and deposits it on the animal upon contact.

  • Publication number: 20150289704
Abstract: A dispenser which has parts that can be removed, cleaned or disposed of when changing supply containers such that the supply containers can be quickly changed while maintaining sanitary conditions. The dispenser has a piston pump in which the piston has a permanent part and a removable end piece. The end piece is configured to contact the liquid during movement of the piston in a cylinder, but the remainder of the piston and other hardware does not contact the liquid. The end piece of the piston can thus be discarded and replaced or cleaned each time the supply of liquid is changed. The nozzle assembly is also removable and cleanable or replaceable. The nozzle assembly can be replaced with an identical one or a different nozzle assembly suitable for dispensing a different liquid. Also disclosed is a portable housing for the supply containers that has a pivotable floor panel.

  • Patent number: 8841903
Abstract: A metal detection apparatus that uses one or more operating frequencies. The metal detection apparatus comprises, among other things, a transmitter unit that provides transmitter signals to a transmitter coil that is coupled to a receiver coil, which is connected to the input of a receiver unit. The transmitter unit comprises a frequency generator that provides an operating frequency to the input of an amplifier stage, whose output is connected via a transformer to the transmitter coil. The amplifier stage is connected to a first tap and the transmitter coil is connected to a second tap of the same transformer winding of the transformer. A resonant circuit is formed that is tuned to the operating frequency, and can be tuned optimally and independently of other parts of the transmitter unit.

  • Publication number: 20140202445
Abstract: Exhaust hood methods, devices, and systems are disclosed herein that improve the performance of short-circuit hoods. Such improvements can be provided relatively inexpensively by utilizing existing features of the structure of short-circuit hoods. The resulting enhancement in performance may exceed that of a regular exhaust hood while avoiding the pitfalls associated with make-up air injection into the exhaust hood recess. The components of the short-circuit system that inject make-up and/or conditioned air into the exhaust hood recess can be converted into a combination of horizontal and vertical jets at a lower edge of the exhaust hood. A retrofit jet generator can be installed into the short-circuit system outlets. A series of openings in the jet generator can generate the combination of horizontal and vertical jets at a lower edge of the exhaust hood when air from the make-up air or conditioned air source is supplied thereto.

  • Publication number: 20130228136
Abstract: A method of dispensing liquid from a dispenser onto an animal. The method includes placing a tip of the dispenser on or near the skin of the animal and depressing a plunger which is movably disposed in a body of the dispenser. Depressing the plunger causes a membrane in the body to be pierced such that an opening is formed in the membrane. At least some of the liquid is dispensed through an opening of the dispenser onto the skin of the animal. In another embodiment, a dispenser is provided for dispensing liquid onto the skin of an animal. The dispenser can include a cap and a replaceable cartridge.
