  • Publication number: 20150272329
Abstract: A reclining mechanism for use on a chair is disclosed that allows the chair to be placed in close proximity to a wall, and allows the chair back to recline, in part, by moving the seat forwardly, but not upwardly. A chaise option is also disclosed that allows the seating portion of the chaise to move forwardly as the back reclines. In an alternative arrangement, an extendable ottoman is disclosed that is independently operable from the back recline.

  • Publication number: 20140360587
Abstract: A device for reducing friction of a viscous fluid flow in a conduit includes a body (10,110) positionable to define at least a segment of a flow path for the viscous fluid in or contiguous with the conduit, a cavity (40,140) in the body for retaining lubricating fluid, and at least one port (42,142) in the body for delivering lubricating fluid to the cavity. A fluid outlet arrangement (48,148) from the cavity delivers lubricating fluid to the flow path to form a downstream lubricating film about viscous fluid flowing therein. The fluid outlet arrangement comprises a substantially continuous opening or ring of close spaced openings about the flow path. The cavity comprises an array of passages in the body that includes a plurality of elongate passages (55,155) that extend about the flow path effective collectively to reduce the pressure variation and therefore velocity variation of the delivered lubricating fluid along the outlet arrangement. A corresponding method is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140186272
Abstract: The present invention provides synthetic routes for preparing various isomers of cyclohexane-based coolants, such as menthyl esters and menthanecarboxamide derivatives, in particular those substituted at the amide nitrogen, for example with an aromatic ring or aryl moiety. Such structures have high cooling potency and long lasting sensory effect, which make them useful in a wide variety of consumer products. One synthetic route involves a copper catalyzed coupling of a primary menthanecarboxamide with an aryl halide, such reaction working best in the presence of potassium phosphate and water. Using this synthetic route, specific isomers can be prepared including the menthanecarboxamide isomer having the same configuration as l-menthol and new isomers such as a neoisomer having opposite stereochemistry at the carboxamide (C-1) position. The neoisomer unexpectedly has potent and long lasting cooling effect.

  • Publication number: 20140189561
Abstract: A method for configuring a data analyzer is provided. The method comprises displaying to a user, on a presentation interface coupled to a processor, a graphical representation of at least a portion of the data analyzer. A data analyzer configuration for the data analyzer is then generated using a user input interface, which is coupled to the presentation interface and the processor. The presentation interface then displays to the user a plurality of selectable machine train components. The method also comprises generating, using the user input interface, an interactive graphical representation of a machine train including at least one of the selectable machine train components. Using the processor, a configuration file is generated based on the data analyzer configuration and the graphical representation of the machine train.
