  • Publication number: 20150156555
Abstract: Media content is received in a windows management application. The media content is from a set of content including zero or more television signal content and zero or more application content. The media content is incorporated into a television signal containing a window configuration. • Publication number: 20150153151
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining location using magnetic fields from AC power lines are provided. As an example, each magnetic field reading collected by the device over time can be analyzed to determine a plurality of characteristics of the magnetic field. One or more of the plurality of characteristics can describe a component of the magnetic field that oscillates at a frequency associated with the AC power lines. The plurality of characteristics can be compared to expected values respectively associated with a plurality of locations and provided by a map of the magnetic field to determine a location at which each magnetic field reading was collected. In further embodiments, magnetic field readings collected by the device over time can be analyzed in conjunction with other data or constraints to determine a trajectory of the device. In addition, the map can be updated using the collected readings and the determined trajectory.

  • Patent number: 9007004
Abstract: A controller for an AC electric motor, includes a Feed Forward Torque Controller and a load model. The Torque controller directly derives a torque related component of applied motor voltages from a signal representing a torque command input T* and at least one motor parameter. The load model derives a motor speed value including a model of motor speed behavior of the AC electric motor to provide an output signal which represents the motor speed of the AC electric motor. This motor speed output signal is used in determining a frequency of rotation of an applied motor voltage vector. Where an input to the load model is the signal representing the torque command input T*, the load model uses the signal representing the torque command T*, at least over a part of an operating speed range of the AC motor which includes zero speed, to determine the motor speed output signal.

  • Publication number: 20140300465
Abstract: A system to convey user alert messages is disclosed. The system may have a alert service coupled between alert providers and a number of households. After receiving in the alert service an alert message from an alert provider, the alert service may alter the alert message to identify the household designated to receive the alert message. The alert service sends a notification to a home media system within the household designated to receive the alert message.

  • Patent number: 8854043
Abstract: A method for detecting an electrically conductive target in a soil using a metal detector, including: generating a transmit magnetic field for transmission into the soil based on a transmit signal; receiving a receive magnetic field; providing a receive signal induced by the receive magnetic field; processing the receive signal to produce a processed signal; processing a duration of the receive signal, the duration begins after a time the processed signal exceeds a threshold value and ends after a time the processed signal no longer exceeds the threshold value, to produce more than one estimations indicative of a presence of the electrically conductive target when the target is within an influence of the transmit magnetic field; and presenting graphically the more than one estimations.

  • Publication number: 20130326613
Abstract: Secure access of an electronic device may be dynamically controlled based on an adaptive algorithm. Secure access may comprise locking or unlocking of the electronic device. The adaptive algorithm may enable adjusting parameters used in determining when access to the electronic device is granted or denied. The parameters may comprise one or more thresholds used when comparing current user related information, such as biometric information, with corresponding prior information. The adaptive algorithm may enable adjusting the parameters based on valuation of information that may be exposed when the electronic device is accessed, probability of unwanted access, and/or acceptable cost of improper denial of access.

  • Publication number: 20130185987
Abstract: A fishing lure accepts a glow stick inserted therein to provide night illumination. The fishing lure uses interchangeable glow sticks which are inexpensive and can be changed as needed for illumination. The fishing lure allows for the easy and quick insertion and removal of a glow stick as needed and saves the user a lot of time and is very cost effective. The fishing lure can be designed in various configurations, such as a plug-type lure with the glow stick inserted fully or with the glow stick protruding out of the lure. In some embodiments, a squid-type lure can be designed with one or more glow sticks used to provide illumination.
