  • Patent number: 9870350
Abstract: A method for visually accessing information. A computer system displays pie charts in a graphical user interface in a display system. The pie charts have sections that represent pieces of the information, and each of the pie charts represents a type of the information. The computer system receives a user input selecting a portion of the sections from the pie charts displayed in the graphical user interface. The computer system displays a new pie chart in the graphical user interface using the portion of the sections selected by the user input. The new pie chart has new sections representing selected pieces of the information corresponding to the portion of the sections. The new sections have sizes based on a policy, and the sizes for the new sections indicates relative values of the pieces of the information with respect to each other. The new pie chart enables visually accessing the information.

  • Patent number: 9854362
Abstract: A networked speaker system communicates using Li-Fi. The LEDs implementing the Li-Fi may also have modes in which they are used to map the walls of a room in which the speakers are located, detect the locations of speakers in the room, and detect and classify listeners in the room. Based on this, waveform analysis may be applied to input audio to establish equalization and delays that are optimal for the room geometry, speaker locations, and listener locations.

  • Publication number: 20170237803
Abstract: A network bridge connects a host device, such as digital media player, cell phone or camera, to content sources over a network to permit the host device to transmit or receive digital media. The network bridge includes a network interface module that identifies at least one media source as well as digital media available on the network. A host device interface module receives, from the host device, file system requests in accordance with a protocol, such as a mass storage protocol. In response to the request, a host device protocol interface module on the network bridge translates the file system request to a request for digital media. The network interface module acquires digital media from the media source, and the host device interface module transfers the digital media to the host device in accordance with the interface protocol. The network bridge may connect to one or more services that provide content to the host device. For example, the services may be accessible over the Internet.

  • Publication number: 20170118529
Abstract: A system for distributing media includes a wide area network (WAN), a media player coupled to the WAN at a first home, and a media server coupled to the WAN at a second home for providing media. A service is coupled to the WAN for receiving a request for media from the media player and for establishing a connection between the first and second homes over the WAN. Media is streamed across the WAN from the second home to the first home. The system may include a storage device coupled to the media player when media is transferred across the WAN for storage at the storage device. A media device may be coupled to the media player for playing the streamed/transferred media where the media player and the media device may comprise a television, stereo, or computer and the media item may comprise video, photographs, or audio.

  • Patent number: 9560449
Abstract: A user is guided through various setup routines to optimize speaker parameters and/or positions and/or frequency assignations for the particular space in which the speaker system is located and intended to be used. This can be done using an application downloaded from a cloud server to a smart phone or tablet computer, which is then employed by the user to optimize speaker configurations for various speaker locations in the room.
