  • Publication number: 20180163025
Abstract: A solid surface comprises (i) a crosslinked acrylic or unsaturated polyester resin present in an amount no greater than 51 or 52 volume fraction percent, and (ii) no greater than 48 or 49 volume fraction percent of inorganic filler particles that are modified with discrete functional particles that are bound, or adhered to the filler particles, the filler particles being distributed evenly throughout the solid surface wherein (a) 95-99 volume fraction percent of the filler particles has a major dimension in the range of from 0.5 to no greater than 10 microns, (b) the D50 of the filler particles is from 0.5-2.5 microns, (c) the D90 of the filler particles is equal to or less than 10 microns and (d) the filler particles are modified with discrete functional particles that are bound, or adhered to the filler particles.

  • Patent number: 9982209
Abstract: A low-wear fluoropolymer composite body comprises at least one fluoropolymer and additive particles dispersed therein. Also provided is a process for the fabrication of such a fluoropolymer composite body. The composite body exhibits a low wear rate for sliding motion against a hard counterface, and may be formulated with either melt-processible or non-melt-processible fluoropolymers.

  • Patent number: 8987369
Abstract: This invention relates to compositions comprising blends of acrylic add polymers and/or ethylene acrylic add copolymers and colloidal silica modified with certain aromatic aminosilanes, aromatic aminoalkylsilanes, alkenyl aminoalkylsilanes, secondary or tertiary aliphatic aminosilanes. These compositions can provide improved properties such loss modulus, storage modulus, creep resistance, and wear resistance, without sacrificing optical clarity.

  • Publication number: 20040234886
Abstract: A photosensitive element for use as a flexographic printing plate comprises a support, an elastomeric photopolymerizable layer having a surface opposite the support that defines a plane, and a matted layer disposed above the surface of the photopolymerizable layer comprising a polymeric binder and at least one matting agent which is capable of forming depressions from the plane into the photopolymerizable layer. Also described is a process for preparing such a photosensitive element and a process for preparing a flexographic printing plate from the photosensitive element.
