Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method in a relay node (10) for acquiring information about a type of a radio network connection between a donor radio base station (12) and a radio base station (14). The relay node (10) and the donor radio base station (12) are comprised in a radio communications network and the donor radio base station (12) is serving the relay node (10). The relay node (10) receives a message from the donor radio base station (12), which message is indicating a type of radio network application protocol, which type is related to a type of the radio network connection between the donor radio base station (12) and the radio base station (14). The relay node (10) determines the type of the radio network connection based on the type of radio network application protocol indicated in the message.

  • Patent number: 9807668
Abstract: A mobility state of a mobile relay node is determined as one of three or more different mobility states. The mobile relay node may determine the mobility state itself or based on received information from another network node. Control information is determined based on the determined mobility state of the mobile relay node and an action is then performed or initiated based on the determined control information. The tree different mobility states may include moving, standing, and at least one additional mobility state. Example additional mobility states of the mobile radio node include: departing, arriving, or temporarily stopped.

  • Publication number: 20170285621
Abstract: A network node (200), a wireless device (202) and methods therein, for handling device capabilities. The wireless device (202) sends (2:1) a capability pointer to the network node (200), which capability pointer is associated with a capability configuration of the wireless device (202). The network node (200) then retrieves (2:2) said capability configuration based on the capability pointer from a capability database (204) or the like where a range of predefined capability configurations and associated capability pointers are maintained. The retrieved capability configuration can then be used in radio communication (2:3) with the wireless device (202).

  • Patent number: 9769797
Abstract: A system includes a self-backhauled eNodeB which communicates via a radio interface with an anchor eNodeB, where the self-backhauled eNodeB is made reachable in an operator's network via a serving gateway and where the serving gateway of the self-backhauled eNodeB owns an IP address associated with the self-backhauled eNodeB. The system receives a packet destined for the self-backhauled eNodeB and classifies the packet to a bearer associated with a self-backhauled link to the self-backhauled eNodeB.

  • Patent number: 9769325
Abstract: In one aspect of the teachings herein, an Application Function (AF) in a wireless communication network is configured to support online charging for the consumption of content that has been pre-fetched to a wireless device via the network. The AF functionality thus provides a mechanism by which content may be pre-fetched to a wireless device in advance of charging for that content, while reliably conditioning the later consumption of that content at the wireless device on the online charging decisions made by an online charging system. In another aspect, a wireless device is configured to send a consumption request for pre-fetched content towards such an AF and condition its consumption of the pre-fetched content on the consumption response returned to it.

  • Publication number: 20170257802
Abstract: An access node (20) of a cellular network receives an information centric networking request of a user equipment (10) for a data object. The access node forwards the information centric networking request to a local gateway (30) associated with the access node (20). The local gateway (30) maintains a pending interest table including an entry for each data object having a pending information centric networking request at the local gateway (30). In response to the user equipment (10) moving from a coverage area of the access node (20) to a coverage area of a further access node (21), the access node (20) and the further access node (21) perform a handover procedure. The further access node (21) is associated with a further local gateway (31) maintaining a further pending interest table. The further pending interest table includes an entry for each data object having a pending information centric networking request at the further local gateway (31).

  • Patent number: 9756595
Abstract: A relay node identified by a unique relay node identifier relays communications between a donor base station and one or more user terminals. The donor base station acquires the relay node identifier during a relay node attach procedure from where the relay node or another node in the core network (e.g., mobile management entity). The donor base station may use the relay node identifier to retrieve configuration information for the relay node. The configuration information may be used to configure the relay node, to perform radio resource management functions, and/or to monitor the performance of the relay node.

  • Publication number: 20170245303
Abstract: A communication device (10, 100-1, 100-2, 100-3, 100-4) detects potentially colliding usage of transmission resources. Further, the communication device (10, 100-1, 100-2, 100-3, 100-4) detects cease of the potentially colliding usage of the transmission resources. After expiry of a backoff time period starting when detecting the cease of the usage of the transmission resources, the communication device (10, 100-1, 100-2, 100-3, 100-4) performs a transmission on the transmission resources. • Patent number: 9736736
Abstract: A method for handling Circuit Switched Fallback from a Packet Switched domain includes receiving an indication that Circuit Switched Fallback is supported from an eNodeB located within the Packet Switched domain. The method also includes registering to a Circuit Switched domain associated with Circuit Switched Fallback by tunneling Circuit Switched Registration information, via the eNodeB, to the Circuit Switched domain, thereby enabling the User Equipment to setup a Circuit Switched call or receive a Circuit Switched page. The method also includes receiving a Circuit Switched specific parameter setting from the eNodeB. The Circuit Switched specific parameter setting includes decoding information to facilitate decoding of transmissions in the Circuit Switched domain. Additionally, the method includes, after receiving the Circuit Switched specific parameter setting, switching from the Packet Switched domain to the Circuit Switched domain and using the decoding information to access the Circuit Switched domain.

  • Publication number: 20170223666
Abstract: A method and a first network node (120) of a wireless network (100) for managing a request for a connectivity for a service of a wireless device (110) are disclosed. The first network node (120) is configured to use a first set of resources of the wireless network (100). The first network node (120) receives (403) the request for the connectivity. The request is associated with a required level of a connectivity for the service. The required level of the connectivity relates to likelihood of maintaining the connectivity towards the wireless network (100). The first network node (120) further configures (404) the first set of resources to increase an estimated level of the connectivity for the service towards the wireless network (100). The estimated level of the connectivity is associated with the wireless network (100). A corresponding computer program and a computer program product are also disclosed.
