  • Patent number: 7263089
Abstract: A method for operating a mobile radio network is proposed which makes possible improved error protection of the control data to be transmitted while requiring as small a transmission bandwidth as possible. In this context, payload data is transmitted in payload data packets. The payload data packets are each assigned at least one header information item containing control data for routing the payload data packets in the mobile radio network. The control data and the payload data are transmitted with different error protection.

  • Patent number: 7043751
Abstract: A method and a subscriber station for allocating rights of access to a telecommunications channel of the telecommunications network to at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20) are proposed in which information signals are transmitted to the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20). With the information signals, access authorization data (45, 50, 55) are transmitted to the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20). Upon reception of the access authorization data (45, 50, 55) in an evaluation unit (6) of the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20), the question is asked whether the access authorization data (45, 50, 55) include an access threshold value (S), and the access threshold value (S) is compared with a random number or a pseudo-random number (R), and the right of access to a telecommunications channel of the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20) is granted as a function of the outcome of comparison.

  • Patent number: 6960997
Abstract: A method for transmitting location-related data information between a main station and a mobile terminal is described, as well as a main station and a mobile terminal are described, which provide a position tracing of the mobile terminal or a navigational application on the display device of the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal may include a mobile telecommunications terminal. In a first step, a position of a mobile terminal is ascertained and transmitted to the main station. In a second step, location-related data information for the mobile terminal is formed in the main station, in dependence upon the ascertained position of the mobile terminal. In a third step, the location-related data information is transmitted from the main station to the mobile terminal. In a fourth step, the location-related data information received is brought to reproduction on a reproduction device of the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 6813258
Abstract: A detection method in which a CDMA-coded data signal is transmitted in the form of a data stream of spread data bursts between a transmitter and a receiver, hierarchical CDMA codes being used for the transmission. In a first step, codes having a smaller spreading factor than a maximally to be detected spreading factor are detected. In a second step, codes having a larger spreading factor than in the previous step are detected, the detection results of the first step being taken into account. In a third step, the detection process is broken off if all codes are detected, or otherwise the second step is repeated with the detection results last obtained in each instance, until all codes are detected.

  • Publication number: 20030128677
Abstract: The present invention creates a data transfer method, specifically for use in a CDMA system in the TDD mode, a data signal being transmitted in the form of a data stream of data bursts of different users (N1-NK) between a first station (BS) and a second station (MS) via a multiplicity of antennas (A1-AN), and a reference signal being transmitted in connection with the specific data burst. In a first step, a reference signal is transmitted from the second station (MS) to the first station (BS). In a second step, a channel estimation (KS) is carried out in the first station (BS) based on the reference signal that is received from the second station (MS). In a third step, the first station (BS) transmits a data burst to the second station (MS) via the multiplicity of antennas (A1-AN), it being possible to modify the transmission signals of various antennas having various amplitude and phase factors (An, &phgr;n) in accordance with the channel estimation.

  • Publication number: 20030103513
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for signaling various header data (5, 10, 20, 25) in the transmission of packet data units (1) in a telecommunications network depending on a type of the respective header data (5, 10, 20, 25), which requires the lowest possible bandwidth and bit rate. A set of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) received in a receiver (70) of the telecommunications network, depending on its signaling (30, 35, 40), is supplied to one of at least two groups (50, 55) of algorithms for an evaluation. For a first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25), a first algorithm is provided in a first group (50) of algorithms, and for a second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) a second algorithm is provided in a second group (55) of algorithms, wherein the first algorithm corresponds to the second algorithm. The signaling (30, 35, 40) for the first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) and the signaling (30, 35, 40) for the second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) are combined into a shared signaling.
