Abstract: A clothes washing machine for washing clothes in boiling water comprises a tub enclosing a wash tank. The tub has an upstanding wall with a rim. A cover for the tub includes inner and outer downwardly projecting flanges forming a groove extending continuously around the periphery of the cover to prevent the escape of steam. The rim of the tub is tightly received in the groove. A water infeed line for the tub includes an enlarged chamber for relieving the pressure of incoming water to provide a smooth inflow of water.

Abstract: An eyelet of high strength materials is disclosed herein having an upper end equipped with a tapered roller for movably supporting the eyelet on a cable and having a lower end equipped with a similar roller for supporting the end of the lower end of the eyelet from chaff by the cable. The eyelet is composed of stainless steel in the form of an oval-shaped rod in front elevation having a U-shaped upper end joined with a U-shaped lower end by outwardly diverging side members. A selected side member includes a spring-released latch normally biased closed to maintain the load-supporting cable captured within the eyelet between the roller. Lubricating fittings and disassembly construction for maintenance and repair is employed in mounting the rollers.

The control device has one or more switches that are on a goods selecting keyboard, a designating signal generation device for outputting a specific signal identifying the pressing of a switch, a goods displaying device for displaying goods corresponding to the specific signal, a goods releasing device for controlling the release of the designated goods and a coin mechanism for authenticating coins.

Abstract: A valve is disclosed herein having an open-ended passageway with a movable gate inbetween its opposite ends for selectively opening and closing the passageway. The opposite valve ends defining the passageway include a threaded fitting or cap carried on a valve body defining a tapered gland occupied by a frustro-conical resilient seal cooperating with the gland to seal between a conduit and the valve body. The valve body is adapted for installation in a situation joining opposing ends of separated conduit or pipes.

Abstract: An adjustable vise grip is disclosed herein having a pair of lever members joined together adjacent one end by a sliding adjustable lock mechanism carried on one member passing through a slot in the other member. The mechanism includes a spring biased plunger having a stepped end for urging a ball into selected ones of openings provided in the slot on the other member. Jaw portions carried on the extreme ends of said members cooperate to grip a workpiece when pivoted about the lock mechanism.

Abstract: A combined key and combination lock herein having a housing fixed to a door which mounts a linear key lock mechanism including spring biased pins or tumblers displaced and aligned by a coded key and a rotary combination lock mechanism including notched or keyed disks selectively aligned by rotation of a numerical dial via a disk transfer mechanism. Shaft and gear members intercouple the key lock mechanism with combination lock mechanism with combination lock mechanism for cooperatively operating a latch bolt to a lock position while a resilient bias device returns the latch bolt to an unlock position. A clutch mechanism selectively disengages the key lock mechanism from the combination lock mechanism so that the numerical dial on the inside of the door may be used solely for unlatching the bolt from its lock position. A releasable stop plunger is spring biased on the housing for disabling both the key lock mechanism and the combination lock mechanism to retain the bolt in its lock position.
