  • Patent number: 5944281
Abstract: The dual band millimeter-infrared fiber optics guidance data link presents nhanced seekers with the capability to see through cloud cover while exhibiting resolution that is adequate to strike high value targets. Such a seeker may use a bi-directional dual band data link in the form of a secure, high bandwidth optical fiber between the missile in flight and the ground station, offering the capability to transmit millimeter-infrared sensor data from the missile to the ground station and transmit missile guidance signals from the ground station to the missile over the same high bandwidth optical fiber. Both infrared and millimeter target signature data is made available in the ground station by the use of applicants' invention.

  • Patent number: 5771016
Abstract: In a phased array radar, simultaneous beam steering and single-sideband mlation is accomplished in the phase shifters in response to phase control signals produced by the beam steering controller and input to the phase shifters. The beam steering controller produces the phase control signals from a pre-selected beam steering angle, a pre-selected radar intermediate frequency and a voltage representing the frequency error from incomplete compensation of the target motion (doppler) of the previous cycle of the radar. Using the phase shifters thusly eliminates the need for an expensive separate component, the single sideband modulator.

  • Patent number: 5340484
Abstract: The present invention is a gas scrubbing system for removing hydrogen sulfide gas from a wastewater system. Pumps draw wastewater from a wastewater source within the system for injection through aerators which aerats aspirate hydrogen sulfide gas and oxygen from the wastewater source. The aerators mix the wastewater with the hydrogen sulfide gas and oxygen which is returned to the system as oxygenated wastewater containing elemental sulfur. The water and sulphur are then delivered to the treatment plant for final treatment.

  • Patent number: 5173676
Abstract: An electric switch in which a manually-operable dolly is angularly displaceable about a first axis through a top dead center (TDC) position between the extreme positions towards which it is urged by spring means after passing the TDC position to produce a toggle or snap-action effect, the dolly in one extreme position causing or allowing a movable contact to engage another contact and in the other extreme position causing or allowing the movable contact to disengage the other contact. A tail member is mounted for angular displacement about said first axis and the movable contact is carried on an arm mounted on the tail member intermediate its length for pivotal movement about a second axis parallel to the first axis.

  • Patent number: 5160908
Abstract: The combination of a circuit breaker and an actuating member for the circuit breaker. The actuating device comprises an electric motor operable to displace a pair of actuating arms in opposite directions, one actuating arm being displaced along a path in which it is engageable with the manually-operable member of the circuit breaker to displace the member about its axis in one direction and the other actuating arm being displaced along a path in which it is engageable with the member to displace the member about its axis in the direction opposite to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5157366
Abstract: A circuit breaker comprises a housing (1) having a first face and an opposed second face, accessible electrical contacts (105, 106, 108, 115) exposed on each of the faces. An electrical connection is provided between at least one of the contacts (105) and an associated contact (106) on the second face. At least one further contact (108, 115) on the second face is engageable with the at least one contact (105, 112) on the first face of an adjacent circuit breaker.

  • Patent number: 4082662
Abstract: A self-contained waste-liquid extraction, aeration and return system including an aspirator having an elongate mixing chamber downstream of the aspiration point and a liquid pump carrying the aspirator in a unit which is independent of the structure or of the liquid circuit of the system to which it is applied.A particularly effective and structurally rugged aspirator is included.

  • Patent number: 3997437
Abstract: The present invention is a system for treating sewage waste commonly called sludge. An aerator shears the solid particles while simultaneously adding oxygen to the sludge. After being pumped through the aerator, the sludge exits into a large tank. The sludge in the tank is continually circulated, drawn from the bottom of the tank and pumped through the aerator. As additional sludge is periodically added, supernatant water is removed through an overflow line of a stilling well in the center of the tank. After a lengthy period of time, part of the sludge in the bottom of the tank will be withdrawn and moved to the drying beds. With some modifications, existing anaerobic systems may be changed to the present aerobic system for a much greater capacity. Entire collection and waste treatment plant facilities may be designed utilizing the aerators at various stages.

  • Patent number: 3952302
Abstract: A moving target indicating radar that includes a coherent on receive system and a clutter referenced velocity compensator operating in association with a linear predictor to produce coherent IF (intermediate frequency) receive signals shifted in frequency to compensate for the radar platform's motion. A synchronous detector, with pulse repetition frequency modulation, translates the coherent IF received signals to video signals at a desired frequency offset. A storage processor processes and range gates the video signals prior to doppler filtering and displaying the signals as a representation of moving targets.
