    Abstract: An apparatus and method for adjusting prism beam expander. The prism beam expander adjustment apparatus has a light source, a baseplate, a precise rotary stage, support columns, a two-dimensional slide stage, the first 90-degree bellcrank lever, an indication light source, the second 90-degree bellcrank lever, an optical filter, a photodetector, a computer, and an assembly platform. Incidence angles of all prisms of a prism beam expander can be precisely demarcated and designed beam magnification is obtained with the preferred adjustment methods. The parallel of the prisms can be guaranteed by monitoring the pitching of the prisms in the adjustment process. As a result, the linewidth narrowing and cavity losses decreasing can be improved by application of the fixed prism beam expander.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an Ethernet performance detection method and system and an optical network terminal. The method includes: receiving, by an ONT, a detection configuration instruction, and configuring a maintenance end point according to the detection configuration instruction; configuring a performance detection path from the MEP to the VMEP according to states of the virtual maintenance end points configured on a main node and a backup node, wherein the VMEP includes two virtual MEPs, the IDs of the two virtual MEPs are identical, at the same moment; and transmitting a message to a node corresponding to the virtual MEP with the main state. When the node states of the main node and backup node are switched, the optical network terminal may automatically switch the performance detection path to the node corresponding to the virtual MEP, in order to continue to perform the network performance detection.

    Abstract: A device and method for detecting a short circuit in an electrical component during a start-up routine. In an embodiment, a device may have a problematic display having a short circuit that may result in damage to other components of the device if the device were allowed to fully startup during a normal start-up routine. Thus, power supplied to the panel may be initiated in stages so as to monitor any current that may be flowing through the panel, which in turn, may be indicative of a short circuit in the panel. If enough “leakage” current is detected through the panel during this staged startup routine, then a short-circuit detection circuit may interrupt the startup routine and lock out the operation of the device until the detected short circuit in the panel can be addressed.

A multi-state module is connected between the second intermediate node and the output terminal, and has at least a low resistance state and a high resistance state. A control module is coupled to the output terminal, the first switch and the multi-state module, and is operable in response to an output voltage to control the first switch and the multi-state module so that the first switch is open and the multi-state module is in the high resistance state if the output voltage is lower than a threshold value.

    Abstract: Ultra-hard constructions comprise polycrystalline diamond-body having a first metallic substrate attached thereto, and having a second metallic substrate attached to the first metallic substrate. The first and second substrates each comprise a first hard particle phase, e.g., WC, and a second binder material phase, e.g., Co, wherein the hard particles in the second substrate are sized larger than those in the first substrate. The first substrate may contain a larger amount of binder material than the second substrate. Constructed in this matter, the first substrate is engineered to facilitate sintering diamond body during HPHT conditions, while the second substrate is engineered to provide an improved degree of erosion resistance when placed in an end-use application. The construction may be formed during a single HPHT process. The second substrate may comprise 80 percent or more of the combined thickness of the first and second substrates.
