  • Patent number: 5616711
Abstract: A method of producing an aminobutene derivative of formula (I) by allowing a butenol derivative of formula (II) to react with an amide derivative of formula (III) is disclosed. The aminobutene derivative of formula (I) can be deprotected to produce an aminobutene derivative of formula (I-1) or an aminobutene derivative of formula (I-2): ##STR1## The aminobutene derivative of formula (I-A) can also be deprotected to produce the aminobutene derivative of formula (I-B). Any or all of the above aminobutene derivatives are useful as intermediates for producing anti-ulcer drugs, and anti-ulcer drugs having an inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion based on the antagonism against histamine H.sub.2 receptor.

  • Patent number: 5551348
Abstract: An automatic conveying system includes a main loop-like conveying track, a plurality of auxiliary loop-like conveying tracks along the main conveying track for selective coupling and de-coupling by couplers to and from the main track, and a plurality of auxiliary conveying vehicles for running along the main and auxiliary tracks. Each conveying vehicle can run continuously along the main and auxiliary tracks with switching by the couplers. The system permits reduction or elimination of intermediate loading and unloading operations or waiting times for changing vehicles, thus increasing the efficiency of conveyance. In addition, such equipment as stockers or loading and unloading machines for tentatively stocking cargo for changing vehicles and for loading and unloading operations during conveyance can be reduced or eliminated, thus minimizing the installation space for such equipment. This permits effective utilization of factory premises and good layout of the factory with a high space utilization-factor.

  • Patent number: 5107334
Abstract: A picture image zoom apparatus is provided which includes an area specifying unit which designates a predetermined area of the displayed picture image for magnification. The specified area is displayed on the display unit (which displays the overall video signal from the camera circuit) in a manner so as to be distinguishable from the other areas of the picture image. The video signal is produced from the camera circuit and written in a picture image memory. As a result, the video signal is sequentially read from the image memory, and the portion of the video signal corresponding to the predetermined area of the image is displayed on the display unit in a magnified form.

  • Patent number: 4816992
Abstract: A data processing system has a main memory unit (MMU) and an execution processing unit (EPU). The performance of the EPU is enhanced during interrupt processing by providing a basic processor status (BPS) storage and an extended processor status (EPS) storage. The status of the EPU is divided into the BPS and EPS, the BPS containing the contents of a general register that are frequently stored during interrupt processing, and the EPS containing the contents of registers infrequency stored during interrupt processing. The status of the EPU can be saved at any desired address location of the MMU designated by current and new processor status block (PSB) pointers that can be programmably altered. In addition, the address designated by the current and new PSB pointers can be set as logical or absolute addresses.

  • Patent number: 4512748
Abstract: A pendant having a housing with a movable member connected to the housing. The movable member is capable of swinging movement for a period of time. The movement is started by the wearer compressing a movable driving arm toward a stationary projection formed in the lower part of the housing and then releasing. The driving arm is provided centrally with a spring normally biasing the driving arm away from the projection, and gear teeth at its upper end. The gear teeth mesh with a gear train terminating in a shaft having a disc and an eccentrically located projection extending toward the front of the pendant. The projection is engaged within a guide slot in the movable member which is rotatable about an axis contained in the housing. Thus, when the driving arm is compressed and released, the energy of the spring is transferred through the drive train, causing the eccentric projection to move the movable member to which it is connected, and thus imparting an animated character to the pendant.

  • Patent number: 4484406
Abstract: An amusement device consisting of a manipulative puzzle having a plurality of hollow prism-shaped pieces rotatably connected by swivel joints. Each swivel joint comprises a base centrally formed in a wall of one prism and inserted through a hole located in a confronting wall of an adjacent prism. The base is secured by a screw passing through a washer fitting over the swivel joint base. In addition, a set of projections fit into corresponding depressions located on the respective confronting walls to hold the prisms in place until moved. An infinite number of configurations may be imparted to the puzzle by manipulating the prisms, however, it is preferred that the player manipulate an elongated rectangular shaft of interconnected prisms to attain a substantially spherical configuration.

  • Patent number: 4483077
Abstract: A digital measuring device having a relatively rigid slide and a flexible, substantially transparent band with opaque indicia placed thereon, the band being capable of being pulled centrally through an opening in the slide. The slide houses a plurality of optic fibers with one end of each fiber terminating at a light-receiving panel and the other end of each fiber terminating at a digital read-out panel. The ends of the fibers at the digital read-out panel are arranged to form, e.g., a generic "88" configuration, from which the digits 0-99 may be formed. In operation, the band is pulled through the opening in the slide and light passes through the transparent areas of the band and into the light receiving panel. The light continues through the optic fibers and lights up a particular digital configuration at the digital read-out panel. The slide and band may be useful e.g., as a belt-like device for measuring one's waist, or as a carpenter's tape measure.
