  • Patent number: 4377110
Abstract: An apparatus for separating hulls from unhulled rice having a fixed rotating roll and a movable rotatable roll located in pressure contact with the fixed roll. A control rod connected to a biasing spring holds the movable roll in pressure contact with the fixed roll. An automatically operated control senses the biasing force of the biasing means and adjusts the biasing force to maintain substantially constant contact pressure between the fixed and movable rolls.

  • Patent number: 4357778
Abstract: An amusement device having a toy wheeled vehicle and a trackway on which the vehicle moves. In the preferred embodiment, the wheeled vehicle has freely mounted wheels for rotation, and an upwardly extending rod which engages a lift mechanism flange. The lift mechanism raises the vehicle to a height at which gravitational force then imparts movement to the vehicle around a continuous trackway. The vehicle remains positioned on the trackway due to a trackway rail positioned between the freely mounted wheels of the vehicle. The trackway includes four different track sections which impart different movements to the vehicle as the vehicle moves along the trackway. In one track section, for example, the trackway imparts a loop-to-loop movement to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4254576
Abstract: A spin tower station for use with a toy vehicle and a trackway network connecting a plurality of stations, each with its own unique amusement function. The spin tower station, which receives a vehicle at a station entry port and simultaneously moves it translationally and rotationally to a station exit port positioned below, includes a base, two telescoping cylindrical elements extending upward from the base, a vehicle platform mounted on the upper element and normally positioned at the entry port by a spring mounted within the lower element, and a spiral flange on the upper element which engages a stationary guide notch to rotate the upper element as it descends against the force of the spring under the weight of a vehicle on the platform. After the vehicle departs the exit port, the spring forces the platform upward to await the return trip of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4245486
Abstract: A retractable charm device having a two part body formed in a desired shape, movable appendages extending from the body, mechanical mechanism mounted within the body, the mechanical mechanism including two support panels attached to each other, a plurality of gears rotatably mounted between the two support panels on axles, a cam affixed to one of said gears for actuating the movable appendages through cam follower structure, a take-up spool affixed for rotation with one of the gears, an energization cord attached to the take-up spool, a spring fixed at one end to one gear and at the other end to an element of one panel, a guided element for the energization cord mounted on one panel, and structure attached to the other end of the energization cord for permitting a pull to be exerted on the cord to unwind same from the take-up spool and thus, in turn, energize the spring for later actuation of the mechanical mechanism and the movable appendages.

  • Patent number: 4194587
Abstract: An arrangement for indicator meters for automobiles, in which a speed meter and a tachometer are coaxially arranged in a front-and-back positional relationship in the lengthwise direction of the vehicle body so that they may be more readily observed with the least movement of eyes as well as from one and same direction. Also disclosed is an arrangement for the warning indicator devices, in which such warning indicators as turning directions, operating conditions of brakes, dynamo, and so forth are arranged in vacant space around dial plates for the speed meter and tachometer, and such warning indicator devices are accommodated in a cavity formed on the top raised portion of a steering handle column cover.
