  • Patent number: 10842986
Abstract: A single-use cap comprising a cap for connecting to an inlet or outlet of container, connector or port for accessing a material and a piston movably mounted inside the cap. The single-use cap further comprises a first retainer for temporarily holding the piston at a first unused position with respect to the cap. It also has a state converter for converting the piston from the first unused to a second used state when the single-use cap is used to connect to the outlet of the container, connector or port. Once the single-use cap is disconnected from the outlet of the container, connector or port, then a second retainer is activated for permanently retaining the piston in the second used state. The second used state prevents the single-use cap from being reused for connecting to the outlet of the container, connector or port.

  • Patent number: 10688297
Abstract: A system and method for deterring potential illicit use of extended-installations of catheters associated with patient care. A pair of legs are moveably associated together to collectively define a needle-defeating pathway between a pair of scissoring, offset, pinching surfaces disposed on mating surfaces of the legs when the legs are closed and clamped to an indwelling catheter. A single-use tamper evident locking system both maintains the legs closed and provides tamper evidence when opened, such as by disabling the locking system from further locking operation.

  • Patent number: 9839761
Abstract: A system and method for airflow control of pressurized air delivery, and more specifically, but not exclusively, to a robust valve assembly for use in a positive airway pressure treatment (PAPT) system and method to improve speech during treatment.

  • Publication number: 20080040322
Abstract: An Internet web-based system which provides a discrete visual container of multimedia information with interactive functionality using what are termed here cards which are objects displayed on the user's computer screen providing information. The cards can be saved, edited, searched, manipulated, linked and embedded. Unlike conventional web pages, the cards are not created using HTML or any other programming language, but are instead created using an editor thus not requiring programming expertise by the creator. Moreover a group of cards may be provided as a set so that all the information on the stack of cards is available without downloading or hyperlinking. Also provided is a card stack which is a set of cards all displayed simultaneously on one user computer display screen typically in an overlapping fashion where the cards in the set have some relationship to one another. The card stack, like a single card, may be saved, edited, searched, manipulated, linked or embedded.

  • Patent number: 5135144
Abstract: A belt worn and readily portable medical supply pouch for holding a supply of drug containers in a temperature stable and contamination resistant environment is disclosed. A substantially rectangular housing fabricated from a thick insulating material comprising a bottom, two side panels, a front and a back panel with an open top. A housing thus formed defines a cavity therein for storing a supply of drug cartridges. A protective panel extending across the opening of the housing and angled downward into the cavity is provided to prevent contamination from entering the cavity, while providing access by the hand of a user through the opening and down into the cavity for retrieving one of the drug containers. The housing is covered inside and out by a water-proof and contamination-resistant nylon material. Two belt loop members are affixed to the back panel of the housing for attaching the pouch to the waist belt of a user.

  • Patent number: 4544077
Abstract: A liquid container having a container body provided with an open top. A slot extends through the side wall of the container body, and a liner of liquid absorbing material surrounds the outer surface of the container body and covers the slot. A top cover is removably mounted on the container body in covering relationship to the open top thereof, the top cover having a liquid outlet which the liquid in the container can be removed therefrom. The top cover has a leg depending therefrom and movable into and out of closing relationship to the slot so that liquid from the container body can be adjustably allowed to pass through the slot from the container body and into contact with the inner surface of the liner. When the ambient air and the container move relative to each other, evaporative cooling occurs which causes the liquid in the container body to be cooled.
