Abstract: This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: A session management network element receives first information, where the first information includes information about an application, or a data network name and/or single-network slice selection assistance information. The session management network element obtains information about at least one MoQ relay based on the first information, where the information about the at least one MoQ relay is used to establish a connection between user equipment and a first MoQ relay of the MoQ relay. The session management network element sends second information, where the second information includes the information that is about the at least one MoQ relay and that is sent to the user equipment. According to the method, the user equipment can obtain the information about the MoQ relay to establish the connection, to perform data transmission based on the connection.

Abstract: A reference signal transmission method is provided to reduce power consumption. The method may be applied to time-frequency tracking. The method includes a network device sends configuration information of a reference signal RS to a terminal device, where the configuration information is used to indicate at least one periodic target sending time period of the RS; and the network device sends the RS in a first target sending time period based on a first periodicity, where the first target sending time period belongs to the at least one periodic target sending time period. In this case, the RS is sent only in a part of the target sending time period, that is, the RS is not an always-on signal, and wake-up duration of UE is short. This helps UE reduce power consumption.

Abstract: In a communication method, a sensing network element obtains sensing information of a user, where the sensing information of the user includes location information of the user, and the sensing information of the user is for determining an associated user of a first target. The sensing network element receives a first message, where the first message is for requesting associated user information of the first target. The sensing network element obtains sensing data, and obtains sensing information of the first target based on the sensing data, where the sensing information of the first target includes location information of the first target. The sensing network element sends the sensing information of the first target and the sensing information of the user.

Abstract: A session management network element determines whether a first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus have a redundancy functionality, receives a session establishment request message from a first terminal device, to request to establish a first session between the first terminal device and a data network. When both the first communication apparatus and the second communication apparatus have the redundancy functionality, and the first session is a redundant session, selects a first user plane function network element to establish the first session, where the second user plane function network element is configured to establish a second session, the first session is a redundant session of the second session, and the first session and the second session are for communication between the first communication apparatus and the second communication apparatus.

Abstract: A paging indication method includes: generating a PEI, where the PEI indicates whether there is a paging message sent to a terminal on one or more POs; determining a time frequency region for sending the PEI, where the time frequency region corresponds to a synchronization signal block (SSB), a first interval is different from a second interval, the first interval is an interval between a start subcarrier of the PEI and a start subcarrier of the SSB, and the second interval is an interval between a start subcarrier of a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) and the start subcarrier of the SSB; and sending, in the time frequency region, the PEI to the terminal.

Abstract: A communication method comprises that an application function network element first obtains transport information for a data stream, where the transport information includes information about an ingress port for the data stream and information about an egress port for the data stream. The application function network element then determines, based on the transport information, that the data stream is a data stream between terminal devices. The data stream is carried in two sessions. One session is a first session corresponding to the information about the ingress port, and the other session is a second session corresponding to the information about the egress port. The application function network element then can trigger a core network device to initiate policy and charging control (PCC) rule configuration processes for the first session and the second session, so that the data stream can be created.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a wake-up method and apparatus and system configured to execute the method, including a main link and a wake-up link or a chip system in the terminal device, in which the main link is used for transmission of a paging message, and the wake-up link is used for transmission of a wake-up signal to determine whether to wake up the main link. The method may include measuring, by using the wake-up link, a first signal transmitted over the wake-up link to obtain a first measurement quantity of the first signal. The first measurement quantity may include at least one of first reference signal received power (RSRP), a first received signal strength indicator (RSSI), and first reference signal received quality (RSRQ). The method may further include determining, based on the first measurement quantity, whether to wake up the main link.
