Abstract: Systems and methods described for providing capacity and coverage hole analysis in next generation wireless networks (e.g. 5G networks). Provided is a network function comprising a network interface for receiving data from, and transmitting data to, a plurality of network functions connected to a within a communication network; a processor; and a non-transient memory for storing instructions executable by the processor to cause the network function to receive a request for capacity and coverage hole (CCH) information from a capacity and coverage hole analysis (CCHA) consumer, collect the CCH information responsive to the request; and determine a capacity and coverage hole profile that is indicative of at least one of a network coverage sufficiency and coverage service quality based at least in part on the CCH information.

Abstract: Methods and systems for data management in communication networks. An aspect provides a system including a first network function and a second network functions. The first network function is configured for collecting data and storing the collected data. The second network function is configured for removing private information from the collected data and producing privatized data. The first and the second network functions are separately controlled and operated by different providers. The first network function is operated by a first provider via a first controller. The second network function is operated by a second provider via a second controller. The separately controlled feature of such a network architecture enhances data privacy by ensuring different entities control the collection of data and the privatization of the collected data.

Abstract: Wireless network specific (WN-specific) key can be used to provide access protection over the radio access link. A WN-specific key may be associated with (or assigned to) a wireless network, and distributed to access points of the wireless network, as well as to user equipments (UEs) following UE authentication. The WN-specific key is then used to encrypt/decrypt data transported over the radio access link. The WN-specific key can be used in conjunction with the UE-specific keys to provide multi-level access protection. In some embodiments, WN-specific kays are shared between neighboring wireless networks to reduce the frequency of key exchanges during handovers. Service-specific keys may be used to provide access protection to machine to machine (M2M) services. Group-specific keys may be used to provide access protection to traffic communicated between members of a private social network.

Abstract: Methods and System for enhanced navigation and traffic management are provided. A controller obtains input indicative of conditions on a physical road, traffic status information associated with the physical road and requirements of a mobile device. Based at least in part on the input, one or more virtual lanes defining respective routes along the physical road are determined. The virtual lanes are communicated to mobile devices which follow them in place of painted lanes. The virtual lanes can be dynamically updated for example to avoid obstacles. Different lanes can correspond to different priorities of traffic.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for estimating a location using a network function. In the method, at least one positioning apparatus registers to a management function by sending a registration message and transmit a location information message containing an indication of geographic location of said positioning apparatus; the management function gets the at least one positioning apparatus registered according to the received registration message, and sends a response message including information associated with a transmission of the location information message to the at least one positioning apparatus. The location information message is transmitted by the at least one positioning apparatus to a mobile device according to the information included in the response message.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering a service to an end point, such as a UE or server, via a communication network, is provided. A virtual network is pre-configured to handle service packets and includes virtual routers for routing packets via logical tunnels. The end point pre-registers with the virtual network and/or service and receives operating parameters for use in service access. The end point location may be tracked following pre-registration. The end point subsequently transmits and/or receives service packets using the operating parameters via an edge node, such as an access node or gateway. The edge node transmits service packets using the operating parameters and, upon detecting operating parameter usage by the end point, forwards received service packets to the virtual network. Operating parameters may include an identifier included in the packet. The end point may use multiple different edge nodes to access the service.

Abstract: A method and system for allocating shareable wireless transmission resources. A resource pool is established. The resource pool is divided into a plurality of physical layer allocation units usable for wirelessly transmitting control information and traffic data. The allocation units are assigned at the media access control layer for the wireless transmission of the control information and traffic data. The system and method of the present invention also allows mobile stations to be dynamically grouped into multicast groupings to reduce system overhead resource requirements.

Abstract: There is provided a method, apparatus and system for determining a location of a mobile device operatively coupled to a wireless network such that the mobile device can locally calculate its location information with high accuracy. The method comprises receiving, by a mobile device from each one of one or more transmission points of a wireless network via a respective broadcast transport channel designated for transmission of location information, a respective location message. The respective location information message contains an indication of geographic location of said one of the one or more transmission points. The method further comprises determining, by the mobile device, a location of the mobile device based on content of the location information message. The apparatus and system perform any or all of operations of the above methods and features explicitly or implicitly described.

Abstract: Method, system and device for obtaining location information of a mobile device coupled to a wireless network. A request for a location of the device at a first set of times is transmitted by the mobile device toward a first function. A location of the device at the set of times is determined. In response to receipt of the request, the first function replies with an indication of location of the device at the specified times. The mobile device then performs a local tracking operation to determine a location of the device at another time. The local tracking operation is based on the location of the device at the specified times and local input indicative of motion of the device between at least one of the set of times and the other time.

Abstract: The disclosure discloses a method for testing edge computing, a device, and a readable storage medium, and relates to a field of edge computing technologies. The detailed implementation includes: obtaining a model to be tested from a mobile edge platform; generating a test task based on the model to be tested, the test task including the model to be tested and an automated test program for operating the model to be tested; delivering the test task to an edge device, to enable the edge device to operate the model to be tested by executing the automated test program; and generating a test result based on execution information of the test task.

Abstract: An aspect of the disclosure provides for a method for user equipment (UE) internet protocol (IP) address management. The method includes sending by an application function (AF), a request to a policy control function (PCF), the request including information identifying traffic and an indication that a UE IP address associated with the traffic should be preserved. The method further includes sending by the PCF, to a session management function (SMF) being responsible for managing a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session associated with the traffic, a policy and charging control (PCC) rule including the indication. In some embodiments, the request is sent by the AF to the PCF via a network exposure function (NEF). In some embodiments, the method further includes managing, by the SMF, the UE IP address according to the PCC rule. In some embodiments, the managing includes preserving the UE IP address for a PDU session associated with the traffic.

Abstract: An apparatus receives an indication of a set of geographic zones and a set of control transmission wireless resource units. For each one of the geographic zones, corresponding control transmission wireless resource unit are specified for use while in that the geographic zone. While in a first zone of the geographic zones, a control transmission is transmitted, reserving a first data transmission wireless resource unit for use by the apparatus for sidelink (SL) data communication. The control transmission is performed using control transmission wireless resource units corresponding to the first zone. The data transmission wireless resource unit is selected from a pool of data transmission wireless resource units and each member of the pool of data transmission wireless resource units is available for use across a set of geographic zones. Different members of the pool of data transmission wireless resource units are concurrently.

The method comprises: obtaining a basic image taken by a photographing device; removing abnormal pixels from the basic image and recording it as a processed image; obtaining the hue, saturation and value of each pixel in the processed image of HSV format; setting a first condition that the hue is in a D1 range, the saturation is in a D2 range, and the value is in a D3 range; obtaining the b component of each pixel in the processed image of Lab format; setting a second condition that the b component is in a D4 range; collecting and processing the pixels that meet the first condition and/or the second condition to form a set C; calculating the initial range area S1 of the set C.

Abstract: Interference costs on virtual radio interfaces can be modeled as a function of loading in a wireless network to estimate changes in spectral efficiency and/or resource availability that would result from a provisioning decision. In one example, this modeling is achieved through cost functions that are developed from historical and/or simulated resource cost data corresponding to the wireless network. The cost data may include interference data, spectral efficiency data, and/or loading data for various links over a common period of time (e.g., a month, a year, etc.), and may be analyzed and/or consolidated to obtain correlations between interference costs and loading on the various links in the network. As an example, a cost function may specify an interference cost on one virtual link as a function of loading on one or more neighboring virtual links.

Abstract: An aspect of the disclosure provides a method of network access discovery by a core network function. The method includes receiving information from a plurality of user equipment via at least one access node. The information is associated with the locations of UE, wherefrom, the plurality UE send the information. The information includes uplink transmission parameters for connecting the plurality of UE to a network. Examples of these parameters include power level and time advance. The method further includes generating at least one map based on the received information. Another aspect of the disclosure provides for sending at least one generated map to a plurality of user equipment.

Abstract: The invention relates to regenerative, solid sorbents for adsorbing carbon dioxide from a gas mixture, including air, with the sorbent including a modified polyamine and a solid support. The modified polyamine is the reaction product of an amine and an epoxide. The sorbent provides structural integrity, as well as high selectivity and increased capacity for efficiently capturing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, including the air. The sorbent is regenerative, and can be used through multiple cycles of adsorption-desorption.

Abstract: An aspect of the disclosure provides a method of network slice management performed by a Communication Service Management Function (CSMF). The method includes receiving service requirements and receiving capability exposure information. The method further includes transmitting network slice requirements in accordance with the service requirements and capability exposure information. In some embodiments the capability exposure information is received from a Network Slice Management Function (NSMF). In some embodiments the network slice requirements are transmitted to the NSMF. Other aspects are directed to methods implemented by an NSMF and a Network Sub-Slice Management Function (NSSMF). Other aspects are directed to the network functions themselves.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method, an apparatus and a storage medium for labeling capsule endoscopy report. The method includes: collecting p report samples to establish an initial corpus database; parsing the report samples in the initial corpus database, to establish a named entity recognition dictionary and a pattern rules database, and removing duplicate texts from the named entity recognition dictionary and the pattern rules database; since the q-th report sample is collected, q=p+1, querying the named entity recognition dictionary and pattern rules database with texts appearing in the report sample, to automatically label the current report sample. The present invention can build a database by parsing a small number of labeled report samples, make subsequent report samples query the database using specific rules, and then label the report samples automatically in a fast and effective manner, save labor costs and improve labelling efficiency.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a system and method used for allowing a path selection or reselection (hereby (re)selection). In some embodiments data packets for a session between a UE and an application system (AS) can utilize a pre-established user plane path between the AS and an access node (AN) which serves the UE. This can allow for faster session set-up times as a new user plane (UP) path need not be established for every new session if existing UP paths can be utilized. Some embodiments allow an application aware (re)selection of the user plane.
