  • Publication number: 20230192057
Abstract: A parking brake apparatus is provided for a vehicle including a vehicle drive train that extends between a vehicle propulsion engine and a vehicle wheel. The parking brake apparatus comprises a wheel drum located away from the vehicle wheel and fixedly attached to a drivetrain shaft that extends along a portion of the vehicle drive train between the vehicle propulsion engine and the vehicle wheel. The parking brake apparatus also comprises activatable drum brake components disposed in an interior chamber of the wheel drum. When activated, the drum brake components apply a clamping force to the wheel drum to prevent the wheel drum and the drivetrain shaft fixedly attached thereto from rotating and thereby preventing the vehicle wheel from rotating to provide the vehicle with a parking brake functionality.

  • Publication number: 20180175550
Abstract: An adapter for receiving a plug connector head, comprising a main body that comprises, on an end face, a through-opening for guiding through the plug connector head at least in part. The adapter is intended to be able to receive the plug connector head irrespective of the geometric design of said plug connector head and therefore irrespective of the manufacturer. For this purpose, a slide element is movably mounted on the main body such that the slide element and the main body form a variably sized receiving space for the plug connector head.

  • Patent number: 7765934
Abstract: A small-bore projectile comprises a ductile outer jacket, a hard core, and a hollow jacket core. Kinetic energy of the projectile is substantially transmitted to the hard core when a target is hit such that said hard core penetrates the target. The outer jacket is supported by the jacket core that is located on the inside and mushrooms up into a deformed state upon impact without fragmenting. The projectile has good flying behavior and great final ballistic performance and can be produced in an entirely lead-free manner.

  • Patent number: 7034863
Abstract: A data structure, such as a digital television signal, includes (a) a video stream representing a picture and (b) auxiliary information, such as a closed caption stream. In one embodiment, the picture has special content that is not visible when a decoder correctly processes the auxiliary information. When an error occurs in the decoder processing, the special content becomes visible, thereby indicating the existence of the error to an observer of the rendered picture. In another embodiment, the video stream represents a sequence of time-varying pictures that provides a temporal reference for characterizing the relative timing of the decoder's processing of the auxiliary information.

  • Patent number: 7028816
Abstract: The invention relates to a brake disk/hub combination and to intermediate elements for a brake disk/hub combination which are based on the following constructive design: the brake disk is provided with support elements on its inner periphery, the brake disk hub is provided with cams on its outer periphery and intermediate elements are radially distributed in the peripheral direction between the brake disk hub and the brake disk. The intermediate elements project into intermediate spaces that extend between the cams and the support elements. The intermediate elements are substantially configured as strips, L-or T-shaped elements and are axially secured against being displaced by at least one retainer ring and/or one rim section of the brake disk hub. Optionally or alternatively the sections of the intermediate elements that project into the intermediate spaces are folded.

  • Publication number: 20060013565
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring and/or correcting audio/visual synchronization is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for providing synchronization of a video signal and a corresponding audio signal associated with the audio/visual transmission includes detecting a triggering video event in the video signal and inserting a synchronization signal into the audio signal, where the synchronization signal is correlated to the triggering video event. In another embodiment, a method for measuring and optionally correcting the synchronization of the video signal and the audio signal includes detecting the triggering video event in the video signal, detecting the synchronization signal in the audio signal, and assessing the synchronization of the video signal and the audio signal in accordance with a time offset between the triggering video event and the synchronization signal.

  • Patent number: RE38874
Abstract: A brake disk for road vehicles has a brake caliper engaging about a brake disk of a vehicle wheel to be braked. A clamping unit upon which an actuation cylinder can act is provided on one side of the brake disk and which itself acts against at least one pressure member. In order to withstand the braking forces in a manner free from sealing problems, the caliper is constructed in one part such that the clamping unit is mounted in a section of the caliper which is substantially closed on all sides. When the caliper is moved away from the brake disk, the clamping unit can be introduced, in the form of a preassembled unit into the caliper through the opening therein facing the brake disk. When the clamping unit has been introduced, the opening in the brake caliper facing the brake disk is closed by a closure plate penetrated by the pressure member of the clamping unit.
