  • Patent number: 5927445
Abstract: A brake disk for road vehicles has a brake caliper engaging about a brake disk of a vehicle wheel to be braked. A clamping unit upon which an actuation cylinder can act is provided on one side of the brake disk and which itself acts against at least one pressure member. In order to withstand the braking forces in a manner free from sealing problems, the caliper is constructed in one part such that the clamping unit is mounted in a section of the caliper which is substantially closed on all sides. When the caliper is moved away from the brake disk, the clamping unit can be introduced, in the form of a preassembled unit into the caliper through the opening therein facing the brake disk. When the clamping unit has been introduced, the opening in the brake caliper facing the brake disk is closed by a closure plate penetrated by the pressure member of the clamping unit.

  • Patent number: 5746262
Abstract: The invention relates to a self-propelling branch remover with the aid of which relatively large branches on trees, but even whole trees, can be gripped and capped. For this purpose, either so-called felling saws have previously been used, which were attached to the front end of a hydraulic crane and gripped the trunk with claws and sawed it off using a pivotable capping saw. The other solution was that of a worker who was lifted in a lifting basket up to the relevant place and carried out the work there manually using a saw. In both cases, the sawn-off parts dropped down in an uncontrolled manner since even the felling saws did indeed hold the piece tight, but could not hold it in the original position since they could not be used to transmit a torque to the crane arm. The attachment was effected by means of two universal joints. In the present case, this is prevented in that a connection between the felling saw unit and the machine frame is selected, which can absorb both bending forces and torques.

  • Patent number: 5568845
Abstract: A pneumatically operated disk brake having a caliper actuated by an application through a traverse member which is displaceably guided with respect to the brake disk, at least one adjusting spindle is adjustably screwed to the traverse member and an adjusting device acts upon the adjusting spindle to maintain a desired ventilating play. A device is provided which prevents any rotating of the threaded spindle up to a specified torque. For a two spindle device the synchronization device can be locked in the released condition of the brake. Another solution is to provide on each adjusting spindle its brake-disk-side end a frontal toothing which engages in a corresponding frontal countertoothing of its pressure piece.

  • Patent number: 5353896
Abstract: The disk brake with a caliper (2) reaching over a brake disk (1) exhibits on one side a clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism includes a cam lever (4), which can be rotated around an axis parallel to the plane of the brake disk and interacts preferably by way of a traverse (6) with one or two adjusting spindles (7, 8), against which a brake lining (10) is braced. The two adjusting spindles (7 and 8) are coupled by means of a toothed belt (12). Into a recess of the one adjusting spindle (7) projects a rotating drive (14), which can be driven by the cam lever (4) and during the application stroke causes the adjusting spindle (7) and thus by way of the toothed belt (12) also the adjusting spindle (8) to be screwed in the direction of approach to the brake disk (1). The rotating drive (14) includes a one-way revolving coupling and a torque limiting coupling, thus preventing a screw connection of the adjusting spindles (7 and 8) during the fixed brake stroke and the release stroke.
