  • Patent number: 8317942
Abstract: A cast iron material, particularly a ledeburitic cast iron material with a carbide content of at least 15 wt. % and a characteristic free, evenly distributed graphite formation is disclosed. In this case, the evenly distributed graphite formation may comprise graphite flakes and/or vermicular graphite and/or nodular graphite. Depending on the respective application (diameter (D) of the running gear seal, peripheral speed), the basic matrix may be realized in pearlitic and/or bainitic and/or martensitic form. Due to the high graphite content, the material has a thermal conductivity that is three to four times greater than that of white cast iron materials, wherein this provides the advantage that no scoring of the running gear seals occurs at high peripheral speeds (>5 m/s) and large diametrical dimensions of the seals (D >600 mm). In addition, the high carbide content of at least 15 wt.

  • Patent number: 8280008
Abstract: Described is an X-ray rotating anode plate having a base and X-ray active layer having the described acceptable properties and a method for producing same. The base comprises carbon nanoparticles in quasi-homogeneous spatial distribution. Carbon nanoparticles can be selected from among carbon nanotubes, nano-graphite powder particles having a substantially spherical shape, and mixtures thereof. The inclusion of described additives improves the stability and heat conductivity of the base. With the described method, the starting materials for the base and X-ray active layer, and other optional materials which may form functional layer are compressed to a preselected shape in a pressing mold with simultaneous application of pressure, elevated temperature and varied electric currents, compressing the shape to a final density exhibiting high-strength diffusion bonds between these starting materials.

  • Publication number: 20120032654
Abstract: The invention relates to an on-load tap changer comprising semiconductor switching elements for uninterrupted switching between fixed tap changer contacts which are electrically connected to winding taps of a tapped transformer. Each of the fixed tap changer contacts can be connected to a charge diverter either directly or, during switching, via the semiconductor switching elements that are connected therebetween. According to the invention, the charge diverter has fixed, divided diverting contact pieces in order for the semiconductor switching elements to be electrically isolated from the transformer winding during stationary operation.
