  • Publication number: 20110094632
Abstract: Disclosed is a cast iron material, especially a ledeburite cast iron material which has a high carbide content of at least 15.0 percent by weight and is provided with a characteristic, free, evenly distributed graphite embodiment that can comprise flake graphite and/or vermicular graphite and/or nodular graphite. The basic matrix can be embodied in a pearlitic and/or bainitic and/or martensitic manner according to the application thereof (diameter (D) of the seal of the running gear, peripheral velocity). The thermal conductivity of the inventive material is three to four times greater than that of white cast materials as a result of the high graphite content, thus advantageously preventing seals of running gears from fretting in case of great peripheral velocities (>5 m/s) and large diameters (D>600 mm) of the seals.

  • Publication number: 20100284520
Abstract: Described is an X-ray rotating anode plate having a base and X-ray active layer having the described acceptable properties and a method for producing same. The base comprises carbon nanoparticles in quasi-homogeneous spatial distribution. Carbon nanoparticles can be selected from among carbon nanotubes, nano-graphite powder particles having a substantially spherical shape, and mixtures thereof. The inclusion of described additives improves the stability and heat conductivity of the base. With the described method, the starting materials for the base and X-ray active layer, and other optional materials which may form functional layer are compressed to a preselected shape in a pressing mold with simultaneous application of pressure, elevated temperature and varied electric currents, compressing the shape to a final density exhibiting high-strength diffusion bonds between these starting materials.

  • Patent number: 7803606
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing flavor-active terpenes from terpene hydrocarbons. According to said method, a lyophilized mycel which is first rehydrated and is then mixed with the substrate is used preferably in a submerged culture in the framework of selective biotransformation with the aid of microorganisms. The inventive method, which can be carried out especially in an enantioselective, stereoselective, and/or regioselective manner, makes it possible to obtain terpenoid alcohols, epoxides, aldehydes, ketones, polyalcohols, carbonyls, and carbonyl alcohols with the aid of fusarium, pleutorus, penicillium, and chaetomium species, the obtained substances being isolated particularly from cellular components. Said method should be carried out above all in a stirred tank, surface reactor, or fixed bed reactor while preferably taking place in a two-phase system with reduced carbon source moieties.
